FL clear title March 1972 born date Highlights and why more desirable - notice only early 72 cars have the low bumper not covering that smile and carry over engine from 71 so higher HP. 335 500ft tq. Early 1972 Lincoln MARK IV little over 40,000 original miles has the higher HP 460 sporting Moondust blue metallic exterior paint and dark blue leather with a white top. Not as common as other colors seen in these beautiful pieces of history. This car was picked up by a family from the original owner. His aunt/uncle had since new, I have the owners Manuel, brochure and other papers. The car was highly optioned above the base Lincoln MARK IV. The paint shows well in the pictures but has some blistering on the hood and trunk, the car has lauqer paint and not to bad in dim light or 10ft. Tires are basically new, the a.c. does work but has a leak, and the antenna isint going down, i havent attended to any of that yet, might be working soon ,everything else works. The car has new parts and maintanced items that have been done. You can hop in the car fire it up and cruze down the road with no worries of mechanical problems. Interior is in very great shape with a crack on the driver side door panel plastic area, headliner and everything else appears to be gorgeous. There is no rot or crazy rust, or any real rust I can see. Now all cars have surface rust in areas as we know but this car is nice. I will upload more pictures later. very well maintained daily driver. The list of refreshing is long through the years including complete front suspension, shocks, brakes, trans, some engine parts, new tires, etc. This car does feature the high back bucket seats...apparently rare (?). I always get a thumbs up when I drive this Mark III.

This car was bought new on October 23rd 1968 at Paul A Ziegler Lincoln Mercury in Bishop, CA by its first owner Mr. Ben Elliott, who sold it to its only other owner in the early '80s. The paint on the car is finished in gorgeous original color of Huron Blue. After looking the car over we believe this is an original paint car. It was just carefully cut and buffed to a nice shine and shows very well! There are assorted chips on the front of the car from its road-tripping uses. The front and rear cowls show fading from the sun but have not been repainted. These cars are becoming harder and harder to find in their untouched form and we thought best to leave this one as so. This car is a totally solid, rust free car, and obviously never saw snow or salt. The underside of the rockers, quarters, fenders, and floor boards are solid as a rock, and the wheel wells look so clean, just the way a California car should. All correct trim and emblems are present and in great shape. The chrome does show some pitting from its just under 68k miles of use. The vinyl top is in nice shape with no apparent rips or tears. I like the look and think it gives the car a clean, classy look. All of the glass is original and the windshield is crack-free. The car rides on four new 15" Hankook whitewall tires and still retains its correct hubcaps which gives the car a very nice look. The interior is all original and in very good condition. The original leather seats are extremely soft and supple and look like new. Door panels Dash, and carpet are all original and in perfect condition. The odometer currently shows only 67700mi, which is stated to be Actual miles by the Arizona title. The wood inlayed steering wheel is in excellent condition and is usually a good indicator of use and miles driven. The seats are in excellent condition with almost no ware- only some slight creasing on the driver's bolster. Under the hood is spotless and the proper decals look like new. Power windows, locks, seat, antenna, wipers, and defog work correctly. The climate control is working correctly and the A/C blows ICE COLD. Rear quarter windows as well as power seat switch are currently inoperable. The trunk interior is like new condition and has all of the original cardboard and original carpeting which looks very nice. The space saver spare is also still aboard as well as the jack and all original tools. Mechanically, this Lincoln runs GREAT! This car features the 460ci V8. This car always starts right up and shifts so smooth it is difficult to feel the transition between gears. Under the hood is very clean and all original.The car tracks straight and rides and drives just like a new Lincoln should! The car includes two sets of original keys, spare tire, jacking equipment, and the original manuals. All in all, this is one of the coolest and most original Lincoln's I have ever owned. It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owner. These late 60's era vehicles are becoming more and more collectible as the older ones disappear into collections, especially well maintained,low mileage, cars like this. We're selling our 1970 Lincoln Continental Mark III. It's all original.The body needs to be touched up a little bit, it has a few small dings, but there's no metal showing and no rust. The interior is immaculate. The liner and everything inside is clean and crisp and free from cracks, rips or tears. The vinyl top isn't torn or cracked. It has the 460, it runs and sounds great! It has A/C and heating. The interior wood appliques are genuine Walnut. It has power everything, concealed headlamps, concealed windshield wipers and split bench electrically adjustable front seats.There are some things currently wrong with it. The windows need to be fixed. The indicator needs to be replaced, but it works. The carb needs to be slightly adjusted. This car is in good condition for a 38 year old car. It has been garage kept but it is not museum quality. It is a great weekend cruiser and looks great from 10'. It does have some surface rust on the bottom of the doors, at the bottom of the vinyl top and on the edge of the sunroof. It has had one repaint that is in good condition. Everything works except the radio and the A/C. The compressor went out last week. The interior is in really good conditon with only a few cracks on the driver's seat. Recently spent over $1000 for service: carb rebuild, distributor, ignition coil, ignition control adaptor, spark plugs, fuel pump, steering tightened and A/C converted to R-134. Buyer responsible for shipping. $500 deposit thru PayPal required within 24 hours of purchase. Balance via wire transfer. 1974 Lincoln Continental Mk IV: Lincoln Continental was a model name for a series of automobiles produced by the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company from 1939 to 1948 and again from 1956 to 1980 and from 1981 to 2002. Despite often sharing underpinnings with less-expensive Fords in more recent years, the Lincoln Continental had usually been a distinctively platformed and styled, highly equipped luxury car in the course of its long history. The flagship Lincoln model during most of its run, the Continental name conveyed special cachet in the product line. For 1970, the Continental received a ground-up redesign for the first time since 1961. Available again as a two-door hardtop and a four-door pillared hardtop, the Continental borrowed a number of styling cues from both its predecessor and the Continental Mark III. As before, the sides were relatively unadorned with blade-like fenders, but the door handles on 4-doors gave away the biggest change: the distinctive "suicide doors" were replaced by conventional front-hinged doors. Like the Mark III, the Continental now wore hidden headlamps. Unibody construction was replaced by cheaper body-on-frame construction; on the upside, the old rear leaf springs were replaced by coil springs. An automatic parking brake release, two-way power seats, power front disc brakes (rear drum), headlamp doors closed light, and adjustable head restraints were standard. Another major change to the Continental lay under the skin; for the first time, it shared a common platform with the full-size Ford LTD and Mercury Marquis. The 1970 model was the first time a standard Lincoln shared a chassis with the full-sized Fords. The Mercury had increasingly marketed itself as a "poor man's Lincoln" in the late 60s. "In essence, the new Lincoln was to the Ford and Mercury what the General Motors C-Body offerings (especially the Cadillac) were to the medium priced car lines that employed the B-shell." In mid-model year 1972, Lincoln's long history of distinct engines from its corporate counterparts came to an end as the 460 V8 became available in the Mercury Marquis and Colony Park. To move upmarket from Ford and Mercury, the full-size Lincoln product line gained two nameplates with two popular option packages. In 1970, the Town Car name (dormant since 1959) was revived; in 1973, a corresponding two-door Town Coupe was introduced. In addition to the base Lincoln Continental, the higher trim level Lincoln Continental Town Car and Town Coupe offered a limousine-style vinyl top and more standard equipment. Front disc brakes were standard. During its lifecycle, this generation of Continental saw a number of changes. From 1970 to 1974, each model year wore a different grille style. In 1973 and 1974, the Continental (to comply with federal mandate) was fitted with 5-mph bumpers in the front and rear, respectively. In comparison to the 1970 model, the 5-mph bumpers seen on 1975-1979 models left the Continental 7.5 inches longer.
