1965 Lincoln Continental Convertible, Brand new paint and new interior. I have driven this car less than 200 miles since the restoration of this car, I just got it back from the paint shop and I just got the seats reupholstered less than one month ago too. brand new convertible top also. History of this car. I purchased this car about two years ago, and have been working on her for the last two years. It had been sitting since 1982, Yes 1982 was the last time it was driven before I woke her up and started fixing her up. It has always been a California car. NEVER had any rust rot, very solid car, never any major accident. This is the solid California car everybody wants. I have a done a once over on the mechanics of the car and I have replaced all parts that I noticed needed immediate attention. Many parts are still original. This car has a very smooth ride and demands respect and attention as she goes down the road. I have not had the opportunity to drive it much since I finished putting her back together. If you live in California and want the original black license plates let me know. OIL PRESSURE PROBLEM, After I got the car all back together I started to hear an internal light tick sound. I found that the car has low oil pressure at an idle that causes the lifters to make a sound. So I had my mechanic replace the rod and main bearings and oil pump. I am surprised I still have low oil pressure. I put thick oil in the motor and that helped a lot. At this point I do not know what the cause of the low oil pressure. It could be cam bearings, or a bad pick up tube at oil pump or???? I have dropped my price by $4500. I did have the car sold for $32k two weeks ago, but was trying to fix the problem. Today I am dropping the price to $27,500. The car actually runs and drives great, but the oil pressure problem should be addressed. The engine idles fine, does not smoke, has plenty of power and the motor sounds great beside the light ticking sound that comes and goes after the oil warms up. The following parts are new (new means no more than two years old and currently less than 200 mile on part) Main bearings, rod bearings, oil pump,Water pump, Fuel pump, most coolant and fuel hoses,Battery, points condensor cap and rotor spark plugs and spark plug wires, vacuum advance, fuel tank sending unit. The brakes I replaced the master cylinder, front rubber brake lines and the proportioning valve. new tires too. Paint and BodyThe paint job is less than 60 days old. It is a black Lincoln color. It is a base coat/clear coat paint. It has three coats of black paint and three coats of clear on her. It has not been color sanded or buffed out. I do have pics of the body before she was painted, and I could email or text the pics if you need to see the prep work if you are a serious potential buyer, All chrome is original. All glass is original. no cracks or breaks. Interior New canvas top,New carpet, and both seats have been reupholstered. The door panels are original, interior looks fantastic. Power top goes up and down as it shouldpower windows work, although the auto drop and return on the rear driver does glitch out sometimesAll gauges work as they should.Transmission shifts as it should.Brakes stop well, 1965 is the first year of factory disk brakes on front. All headlights, tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, horn work as they shouldThe clock even works (it does need the time adjusted once a week or so)Sometimes the power antenna works, but original radio looks great but does not work.Power seat works all directions as it should.Power door locks work as they should. The Factory A/C is 100% there, but does not currently blow cold. I recommend converting it to 134a freon. Only 3300 Convertibles where made in 1965. I was told that less than 550 1965 convertible Lincolns are currently registered in the entire USA. This is a pretty rare car. Most Lincoln gurus agree 1965 is the best year for Lincoln. They made convertible suicide door Lincolns from 1961 thru 1967. 1965 is the best year because it is the first year of front disk brake, it had a stretched back seat area so rear passengers had more than enough leg room. It has the the one year only elegant grill, one year only tail lights and front turn signal. 1961-63 did not have enough rear leg room, and 1966-67 are kinda funky. 1964 is the second best year for Lincolns. If you are going buy a Lincoln why not buy the best year?? $27,500, I may consider a reasonable offer, but I am not depreciate and I know a nice Lincoln is worth between $30K to $60K . If I do not sale the car soon I will fix the oil pressure problem and raise my price to around $35k. This is your opportunity to get a great Lincoln for a cheap price. $27,500 or call with reasonable offer.I would prefer cash in person. show up in person and pay cash and I will give you a lot of extra convertible parts. I have A LOT of 1964-65 Lincoln parts.I will take a check, but car can not leave my house until my bank tells me check has cleared.I can help you with shipping if you need help finding a shipping company. Look at my perfect feedback and buy with confidence. All questions are welcome, I prefer verbal old school phone calls, but email and text is ok too.Danny 916 508 1306

This is the nicest continental I own. I own 5 and have been slowly finishing each one to sell. I've been restoring Lincoln's for myself and friends for over 20 years. Started with a 1967 that i bought from a friend in Las Vegas, rust free which is the only car I will restore. This 1966 I bought a year ago and spent a lot of money and energy rebuilding every inch of it. I had a lot of good to start with. It had a beautiful paint job and interior was in mint original condition. It had mechanical issues from sitting in a garage to long which is usually the case with these types of cars.So the bulk of my restoration was to fix all the window motors and switches, took the dash apart, installed all new bright bulbs and rebuilt each dash component that didn't work like the clock and original 8-Track radio, etc.. I didn't cut any corners and really went overboard on the quality of each section of the car.All the mechanical and electrical upgrades listed below. This is for the person who wants a nice reliable weekend driver and preserve it with preventative maintenance and enjoy driving a classic Lincoln that will never break down and will continue to increase in value. This is a unique color combo that is amazing and the restoration has been done by the best. John Cashman the Lincoln specialist has worked on it twice and finished it with me, with all new window motors and switches and relays. The A/C works great. The only option that lights up and doesn't work is the cruise control and in 1966 Cruise Control was suicide :) So they're not really fixable or safe to use and pointless to get into. You are buying a running Lincoln -not dead in a garage with a mystery of problems. I am NOT a dealer. Besides the 5 Lincoln's I'm restoring: I've owned 2 Lincolns for over 25 years and those are my keepers. Every car I restore: I drive everyday, until everything I upgraded and rebuilt is tested for safety & reliability. I welcome certified inspections prior to bidding. I am available both locally, online or by cell. You are buying a car from someone who's a mechanic, loves these cars and wants to make sure they last another 50 years.I don't sell a lot of cars. One or two a year. I have a "Buy it Now" price with no offer button and I'm firm with my price.I listed it at $40,000 last week to see the reaction and decided to reduce the price to $35,000 which seems to better fair market value from the feedback I received....So this is NOT a car for dealers or brokers who are trying to flip it and make money on it.The only person who can: is someone who buys it from me and takes it over seas to a country where they can double their investment. This is for the classic car collectors, or first time buyer who wants to keep it for 20+ years and with the right preventative maintenance it will eventually exceed $100,000 I buy and sell cars and parts on ebay: checkout my feedback which 100%. If you have less than 10 positive feedbacks you need to call me before making offers online or buying. BREAKDOWN OF UPGRADES, REPAIRS AND PARTS I PURCHASED: 1- Fuel System Completely Restored: New Carburetor, Fuel Pump, Filter, Gas Tank & Fuel Sending Unit 2- Water System: New Water Pump, Hoses, Thermostat. Radiator & Overflow tank were rebuilt into 4 core/row -High Density Desert Tumbler 3- Complete Suspension overhaul: All Bushings, shocks, leaf springs, have been replaced with new. 4- Steering System: Steering Box, Power Steering Pump rebuilt, Steering arms: Idler Arm, Center Link, Inner/Outer Tie Rods, End Bushings, Sway Bar Bushings are new and installed Aircraft quality steel braided Hoses and upgraded the old technology with newer, safer, longer lasting parts without changing the integrity of the originality. 5- New 3" BF Goodrich Radial Tires & Alignment 6- Rebuilt entire braking system: front & back with new disk & rebuilt calipers, brake cylinders & all front & back bearings replaced. 7- Electrical system has no shorts or problems and all windows roll up and down with new switches and relays. 8- The Dashboard lights up and all the functions and options including all the clock was rebuilt9- Air Condition was rebuilt 9- All Exterior headlights, parking lights, brake lights operate and turn signals work10- 1966 has a newer stereo as well as the original 8-Track radio works with dash and rear speakers, while the new BlueTooth Stereo under dash is connected to two 6x9 Pioneer speakers hidden in the back rear panel under the back window.11- This car did not come with the power door lock option so I installed a Viper alarm system and had power door locks installed into the alarm key faub. 12- Transmission was rebuilt. 13- FULL Tune-Up, All Oils and Fluids, drained and replaced with the highest quality fluids. 14- VIN Verified by California DMV, are currently Registered & has a CLEAN California Title These cars are to be preserved while driven and maintained by a trusted mechanic who specializes in classics. For local buyers in Los Angeles, I will help novice buyers who need support in the beginning.I have a list of vendors for parts and mechanics nationwide who are trusted and referred by John Cashman: www.convertiblelincolns.com - who has worked on every car I've owned. You can ask him about the extent of the quality of labor and parts I have put into these vehicles. I've purchased all the parts from www.LincolnLandinc.com & www.Markii.com, Baker's Auto, John Brewer, Arthur Apple and a variety of vendors. You won't find a better condition 66 Sedan anywhere......Please feel free to call and ask any questions.Thank you,Max - 818-263-5570

This car is all original except for some upgrades to the motor for better reliability the other great thing is I have the original owners manual and 35 years of documents and maintenance records from 63 to 98 that can pretty much prove the mileage is original in 98 the car only had 20,400 miles and today it has 44,500 miles unfortunately when the original owner sold the car the second owner they didn't keep records of anything so from 98 until I purchased the car in 2013 there aren't any records but when I received the car the motor was not in the best condition so I put a lot of time and money to get it looking and running good there are before and after pictures and I do have documentation of what was done and how much I spent anyways this is a solid car it has very little surface rust that can be removed with sand paper. No major rust at all. This car won't take much to fully restore so if intrested or have any question or concerns feel free to message me. And please serious injuries only

One owner 79 town car when I got it. Prev. owner passed away soon after new factory engine was installed, and car was stored in desert for 8 year. Replaced everything that would normally go bad with long storage, including all fluids, fuel pump, a/c system, removed tank and cleaned, rebuilt carb, new belts, replaced vinyl top and headliner, new tires, wiper switch, etc. Fired right up on first start. Still looking for driver side seat switches, but motors are good. Clear coat has almost totally flaked off, but paint good. Runs like a dream, passed CA smog better then a new car. registered till Mar4 2016. Really a nice car as is, with no body damage or external parts broken. Some internal controls still intermittent from long storage, but gets better with driving. In Apple Valley, CA, call 760-247-2297 anytime for look see and test drive.
