Was an everyday driver and starts right up. Automatic. Original interior and new door panels still in the box. Runs rough. Had new pistons and rings replaced 20,000 miles ago. No rust holes and has a small dent on the passenger fender. All in all a great classic. I live in Washington. Call 509-276-3232 or 509-720-6505. Thanks

These Corvairs were revolutionary for the Big 3 back in 1961. The concept of using a rear engine, air cooled car with a flat floor unibody frame was unique. This gave the Corvair good handling and the sensation of speed as you were sitting much lower to the ground than the big three land yachts of the time. These are fun cars with lots of parts and club support. I have a video below. Speed ahead to the part you want. From the beginning to the 7:15 minute is the outside, engine trunk and interior, after that is underside for rust and any defects followed by still pictures After decades of buying repairing and enjoying classics (back to 1914 Models) here is some wisdom Buy the best condition car you can afford at the best rock bottom deal. If you buy a car that is not running with an unrealistic vision of it becoming a show car – chances are you will sink a lot of money into it, and not get to enjoy it sitting in your garage for 3 years gathering dust and leaking oil) (yes been there) Spent 2 years trying to find parts for a 1953 Caddy Anything needing repaired will cost money and time evaluate this in your price. If you buy a non running car buy it dirt cheap as you can not check out expensive systems Check the car reviews and historic pricing and condition guidelines at Haggerty Insurance web site Visit Club web sites Look for parts on the internet before buying. if you can not locate say a water pump for a car do not buy it. You do not have jay leno's machinist to make you one ! Rust is a killer. Has the car ever been in an accident? Has any body-filler/putty/bondo been applied to the car? Has any other dent-repair or rust repair work been done? Do the doors shut evenly and cleanly? Do they sag? Does it start, accelerate, steer, and brake properly? Beware cloned (fake Monza and Corsa models) The VIN tells you what model it is Be wary of turbo boost condition Due to long term illness I am selling off my collection one by one. I try to be very honest, with videos and still pictures of the car. The video shows what to check for when buying any Corvair or older car in general to the 7 minute mark, then under shot video of the frame of the car As with all my cars, I offer financing and storage under these conditions. If we agree on a price and I get your down payment (negotiated) I store and insure the car for free for 30 days. After that I charge my cost of 3 dollars a day for insurance and storage. That way if the car is stolen or destroyed we both are covered financially An agreed upon payment expected each month with full payment in 10 months. Email me for an email agreement prior to buying This car was owned for years by a WW 2 Pilot. hate to sell it as I am a retired Navy Pilot but stuff has to go If you decide at any time you do not want it, after purchase and before pick up, either I can sell it again or you can sell it and keep any profit above what you paid for it. I am not a dealer. Just try to be fair. Inspections by YOU or a third party is ENCOURAGED If within in 30 days of purchase you find a defect I have not listed costing more than 200 dollars to repair (which I will do) then you can cancel the sale for a full refund. This is a clean well running automatic Appears to be a repaint quality job of metallic paint It has the very nice heavy crome spinners on the wheels along with the original hub caps. I have enclosed copies of the 1965 and 1968 owners manuals I have listed all the defects I see here Drivers mirror I have it but loose and in the glove box. Appears to be a broken small mounting screw Drivers seat, amateur repairs thread showing passenger seat rip in seam as shown in video Interior front carpet, clean but worn in front, OK in back Front carpet needs replaced for any showing Both bottom carpet door sill plates missing Radio Am turns on but not picking up signal (antenna?) Front wind shield driver side 14 inch? Vertical chrome trim missing Back chrome pieces above tail lights missing Chrome available from Ebay and California Chrome Small drip number 4 cylinder O ring on the push tube valve tube Common problem Car seems structurally sound with 2 minor rust issues on the left front fender skirt (see video) Under car, there seems to be a small missing cover piece of sheet metal for the heating duct (see video) about 12 inches by 7 inches? Good hunting. Feel free to make an offer. I will not be insulted. I may chuckel at a 500 dollar offer but I will not make fun of any offers *************************************

Vehicle Information VIN: 105378W108319 Stock: 2190-ATL Mileage: 22,792 Color: Maroon Trans: Manual Engine: MPG: Drivetrain: Description Forget all that Ralph Nader nonsense, because this 1968 Chevrolet Corvair Monza hardtop is the sporty car that GM wanted to build from the start. No spooky handling, plenty of power from the air-cooled flat six hanging out back (sound familiar?), and an interior thats got plenty of Camaro DNA running through it, all for less than the price of the smallest, most boring economy car you can buy today. The Corvair got a bad name early on, and that was surely part of why it didnt survive, but if you read the enthusiast press of the period, they flat-out LOVED this car. By 1968, all the bugs had been worked out and the restyle a few years earlier had transformed the awkward-looking early Corvairs into a sleek, sporty coupe that wouldnt look out of place next to a Corvette or Camaro. This one was originally green, but at some point it got an appealing burgundy metallic paint job that highlights its sporty nature. Finish quality is decent, with a few flaws here and there and some signs of use, but at this price, nobodys going to complain. A chin spoiler works with a Camaro-esque ducktail spoiler on the rear deck lid to give this neat little car a very aggressive demeanor. The chrome bumpers look good, theres a bit of stainless brightwork to add some interest, and the overall look is of a car thats been properly enjoyed with many years to go. The interior is a neat place to hang out, and the first thing youll notice is the totally flat floors that make it feel spacious inside. Black bucket seats are not especially fancy, but they do have a handsome pattern that gives the affordable Corvair an upscale look. The wood-rimmed wheel isnt authentic but warms up the otherwise monochromatic passenger compartment a bit, and you do get a fully array of instruments, including a factory tach. A long T-handle Hurst shifter manages the 4-speed manual gearbox, which is the enthusiasts best choice in a Corvair. Theres also an AM/FM/cassette stereo in the dash that sounds decent and makes this a fun car to drive every day. And unlike its German competition, theres a good-sized trunk up front, which also houses the dual-reservoir master cylinder. The 164 cubic inch flat-six engine sits low in the chassis out back and inhales through a set of four 1-barrel carburetors to make a very sporting 140 horsepower. It starts with a characteristic wooshing of the big fan in the middle, and out on the road makes plenty of torque to have fun with some much bigger cars. Handling is the Corvairs strong suit once GM sorted out the underpinnings, and the fully independent suspension rides over bumps like a hovercraft and hangs on in corners like a sports car. Brakes are reasonably effective, particularly since the cars so light, and the twin exhaust systems give it a throaty sound that youll enjoy when you blip the throttle. The body pans are in good order and slightly oversized Rally wheels look right and allow the use of fatter 195/75/14 front and 215/70/14 rear radials to give it a little bit of a rake. Outfitted the way an enthusiast would want it, this neat Corvair promises fun all out of proportion with its price tag. Perhaps you should look more closely, because theres a very good reason why Corvairs are so beloved by their owners. Call today!
