This truck has a proper 292 cu in (4.8 L) I6 with an extremely rare and fun to drive three speed column stick shift. The restoration of this truck was one man's labor of love and it shows in every detail on the truck. While not a complete rotisserie restoration it nonetheless is excellent. From the carefully preserved factory inspection numbers in the engine bay to the beautiful wood floor panels in the truck bed, this truck is a pleasure to see and drive. The yellow & white exterior paint is absolutely beautiful with laser straight body panels. The original body gap fit is superb as well. The chrome front and rear bumpers are in excellent shape and are original. The entire front aluminum grill has no dents, dings or imperfections. The interior is original to the truck but the carpet is new OEM and looks great. The door sills are crisp and tidy, all the door wells and door jams are also clean and in original shape. The truck has never been smoked in and the cigarette lighter has never been used. The glove box couldn't be in any better condition. Everything works as it should. Underside is excellent with no signs of corrosion on any of the fenders, bed or rocker panels. The cab bottom appears original and in great condition and was not restored. Upon inspection one of the cab supports does show signs of rust at one time but appears to have been cleaned up but not welded as seen in the pictures. Once you open the hood you will see the 292 I-6 engine combined with a three speed manual transmission which runs perfect and shifts smoothly between all the gears. The engine bay was professionally detailed and brought back to original factory condition while preserving the factory markings. The perimeter around the motor was also detailed and restored to the correct flat black factory paint; it looks as if it just left the factory. Clean, straight, well maintained examples like this are impossible to find. With 1972 examples reaching incredible prices at the 2016 Barrett Jackson, Scottsdale auction, this truck represents an outstanding investment as well. This 1970 Chevy K10 Cheyenne Stepside is the rarest of this group. They are incredibly hard to find in good condition for 2 reasons: Out of the 19,072 4X4 Fleet-sides and Stepsides built in 1970 only 1,629 were 6'5” shortbed stepsides. Most Stepsides were treated harshly and destroyed having been sold primarily to utility companies, government entities, and businesses who used the step side feature. A 4X4 Chevy Cheyenne stepside with 4 speed manual, in near perfect condition is a very rare vehicle indeed. Pampered its entire life this truck has been stored inside when not in use. In the mid 90's the trucks second owner treated it to a full restoration and a new stroked 383 motor. After the restoration the new owner used it primarily in parades and car shows. It participated in the local 4th of July parade every year. Amazingly the truck has only logged 15K miles since its restoration 20 years ago. Painted in Atlantic Metallic Blue the body is laser straight and free of rust. Attention to detail is apparent everywhere on this truck. From its chrome steps, fully diamond plated truck bed, chrome bumpers and attractive pin striping, this truck is the nicest stepside's we have ever seen. To say the least this handsome truck is the subject of focused attention everywhere it goes. The interior is in immaculate condition. The truck has a new CD Stereo and speakers, new carpet, new kick panels, new chrome door sills, and a new steering wheel from LMC. The seat and door panels are also in excellent condition. The speedometer, tachometer, gauges all work as they should. This truck looks great inside and out Powered by an extremely responsi Vehicle Photos: About Blacksmith Garage: Blacksmith Garage started as a place where car guys engaged in passionate dialogue about their cars.
