Presenting a beautiful 1965 Suicide Lincoln Continental. Just received a $10000 body and paint job in a deep magnetic metallic. New black leather interior, new carpet, vintage hounds tooth vinyl trunk liner with cool old toolbox and matching original jack. Nice stereo with trunk mounted amps and sub, with floor mounted eq. Can be removed with out damage to car. Stock stereo still in place. New dual exhaust from engine back with dual magnaflows. Original black California plates front and rear. Stainless trim repaired and polished. New american classic wide whitewalls mounted on hotrod chrome smoothies with bullet center and lugs. Included is original steel rims and nice set of original hub caps. Engine runs great and strong. Speedo not currently hooked up. Has rare option of cruise control which would be active once speedo hooked up. Has air conditioning but also not hooked up. Still needs finishing details under the hood and needs new door seals. This car is an authentic vehicle that has been cared for since it rolled off the lot. The interior is in excellent shape - and so is the paint. It appears to be original with some spot touch ups over its history. This car has been part of an extensive private Lincoln collection and is now offered at a very reasonable price. Sales were better than ever, at 27091 almost equal to the Eldorado’s, a harbinger for the new decade. Little changed from the 1970 model; tinted glass became standard, as did the automatic controlled air conditioning and Sure Trak Anti lock brakes as well as the High back seat, also standard. Horsepower remained unchanged at 365, but the 460CID V8 engine gained a more sophisticated thermostatic air cleaner assembly with its associated duct work. In their second annual “King of the Hill” contest (Motor Trend July 1971) again gave the Lincoln Mark III a nod by a wider margin than 1970 despite the Lincoln being basically a warmed over 1968 model, while the Cadillac was an all new model. M/T noted that the Mark III leather was much more luxurious and better detailed than the Eldorado’s nylon cloth and the Continental’s real wood dash trim was far more attractive than the Cadillac’s simulate. This brings us back to our Beautiful 1971 Mark III, recipient of a nice partial restoration only a few years ago and hails from the Desert state of Arizona! Starting in the nicely appointed interior you’ll notice the seats have been carefully recovered in a Black and White Tu tone scheme, with matching door panels. The panels are clean, and give the interior a very finished appearance. All the gauges are easy to read, and the wood gauge surround looks great. In 1975 it was purchased from the DOD by Colonel Charles Washington who worked for the defense department at the time and eventually moved with the car to California where he used it only occasionally until he passed away last year. This is a wonderful example of an original unmolested Lincoln with 91K original miles. The body is straight with no rust but does have two small dents about an inch or so in the front fender. There are also numerous rock chips in the paint on the front end and right front fender but the original dark metallic brown paint shines nicely. All the inner doors and fenders are rust free as can be seen in the picture and all power options work as they should including the windows, seats, radio and even the power antenna. This Continental is equipped with the unusually rare Town Car Edition package which includes the rarely seen mini vent windows in the front doors as well as extra cushion comfort seats with headrests, wood trim on the doors, dash, header panels, extra plush carpeting in the passengers compartment AND the trunk, rear reading lights, extra sound deadening for a super silent ride, chrome trimmed door armrests, deluxe Continental wheel covers locking spare tire and vanity visor package. Oddly enough it is not equipped with cruise control but does have every other Lincoln comfort. There was a brand new vinyl top put on three years ago and the paint was just polished out and looks great. Also just had a new muffler installed (had been hit by a road hazard but rest of the exhaust system is great), full tune up with new cap, rotor, wires, plugs, hoses,belts and filters (air, fuel, oil and transmission) rebuilt carburetor, fuel tank flushed and cleaned, brake fluid flushed and replaced, new voltage regulator and starter solenoid, new battery and cables, radiator flushed and cleaned, transmission flushed and new pan gasket, new power window motors in the front doors and new window relays, new horn switch. New shocks all around as well. The brakes were checked and are in excellent condition with 90% remaining. There are no oil or fluid leaks under the car and the engine starts right up and idles smoothly. A/C blows ice cold and has been converted to the current R134A refrigerant. All power options work as they should except the clock. The interior looks brand new and is in incredible original condition including the original Lincoln color matched floor mats. While not perfect, this is an excellent example of an all original Continental Town Car and I would not hesitate to drive it across the country from coast to coast as we went through all mechanical, drive, and braking systems thoroughly. There is also an extensive amount of paperwork that comes with the car including the original build sheet and window sticker as well as sale documentation from Bill Bogley Lincoln Mercury where the car was sold. Also a full set of 1973 repair manuals and warranty and service information. Also have about the first twenty years of DMV license renewals and the original owners card with metal VIN plate attached. This is a great example of a rare Town Car Edition Continental and you just don't see these cars much anymore.
