For sale is my 1990 Pontiac Sunbird. Convertible, automatic, 2.0L 4-cyl, FWD. Convertible top is in good condition, and works well. Timing belt and water pump done at 218k, brakes were done earlier this year. Engine used to burn a little oil but recently the levels have been pretty consistent. Decent mpg, but a kind of small tank, you can get to Philadelphia and back on a tank of gas from Milford. Transmission shifts strong and engine runs great. 220,xxx on the odometer (I'm driving this three or four times a week so constantly being driven), mostly highway. I have the original invoice and window sticker, because this car was only owned by three people. Have some maintenance records but I don't have much from the last two years because it has honestly needed very little. Inspection expires next month. I'm moving to Arizona with my girlfriend in July and can't take both cars otherwise I wouldn't even be thinking about selling this car. It's hands down the most reliable vehicle I've owned, and in the summer it's a blast. Some notes: you'll likely need tires before winter if you plan on daily driving this through the year. The passenger side window gets stuck sometimes. Driver's side is usually fine but isn't 100%. The interior is pretty rough (seat tears, stains), but livable. There's a piece of base trim that fell off last month and I don't have the time to fix, but I'll include that with the car. Also, there's a very small crack in the driver's side directional (still works) - I also have a replacement headlight I'll include. AC needs a recharge. Paint fade, little scratches, some weird noises every now and then - kind of the stuff you would expect from a car that's 25 years old. Car is sold as is. Clean title in hand. You will be responsible for the delivery/picking up of the vehicle. 1990 PONTIAC SUNBIRD LE CONVERTIBLE Up for auction is a 1990 Pontiac Sunbird LE Convertible with the original 2.0L OHC 4-Cylinder Engine and 3 Speed Automatic Transmission. 127,980 miles.This car has a current PA State Inspection expiring 6/2015, all four brand new tires with less than 3,000 miles on them and still lots of tread, is great on gas, surprisingly comfortable and easy to drive for a 25 year old economy car, has a clean, well maintained interior, and an aftermarket Kenwood CD Player.So, why am I selling it you ask? Well...The car is in non-running condition due to what I believe is a blown head gasket as well as a worn out piston ring on the #4 piston. The reason I believe the engine has both of these issues is due to excessive amounts of blue smoke coming from the tailpipe, burning high amounts of both antifreeze and oil, constant heavy carbon build-up and oil residue on the #4 spark plug, and now oil spitting out of the throttle body into the air cleaner. The A/C, convertible top, and both passenger windows are not working either. The clear coat on the hood is badly damaged and has largely peeled off.If you decide to rebuild the engine this is still a decent car that easily passes inspection every year. If you decide not to rebuild the engine you still have a good parts car as all body panels are solid (although the doors do exhibit some early signs of rust) with great glass, transmission shifts great, wheels and tires are in great condition, and the interior is clean and in very good condition. This is the third time I've had to list this car after a non-paying bidder from my first listing, and a bidder that claimed to have accidentally bid on the car during my second listing. PLEASE be absolutely sure that you want this car before placing a bid on it or making an offer.
