I've moved house and the Land Rover has to go. I brought this Land Rover over from the UK last year with the intention of renovating it however circumstances have now changed and I no longer have the space to keep it. It isn't currently titled in the US however it does have the UK Title (V5) and the signed and stamped importation papers (CBP 3461, CBP 7501, EPA 3520, DOT HS-7). Its a simple process to go to the DMV and hand these over for a US Title. The vehicle is in Hewlett, NY. It is insured and can be driven. Test drives are possible and encouraged. I can also bring it into Manhattan by prior arrangement if required for viewing. The Land Rover belonged to a friend of mine in the UK. He spent a good deal of time and money renovating and upgrading it. It is fitted with Boost Alloy wheels with Goodrich Mud-Terrain Tires, terrafirma suspension, the headlights have been replaced with Halogen units, additional Wipac driving lamps have been fitted. The side lights, rear lamps and indicators have been upgraded to LED units. Lamp guards are fitted to the rear and an a-frame nudge bar mounted to the front bumper. It has checker plate on the front hood and the rear door. The main roof panel was also replaced to one without a sunroof. This is a good move as the sunroofs always used to leak. It is the correct roof panel with the Alpine Windows, correct for the County Station Wagon. The interior is standard and in good condition with no rips or tears. It is fitted with a cubby box between the front seats and has the inward facing rear seats. As it is the CSW model it has the head liner and trim finishing panels. Unfortunately the headliner above the front seats is missing, the original had the hole for the sunroof, a replacement is required for a non-sunroof version as currently configured. the headliner over the rear seats is in good condition. The engine and transmission are in good condition. It has covered 97,500 miles which is low for its age. It starts, runs and drives well. It was used recently as a daily driver and could continue to do so with no issues. The chassis is solid with no corrosion. The bulkhead is also in good condition with no corrosion. The bottom of the door frames have been replaced at some point in the last few years, this is a common repair on Land Rovers of this age and these have been done to a high standard, however the repaired panels do show signs of more corrosion. When the door bottoms were replaced the doors appear to have been repainted. The color matches the rest of the bodywork, however the quality of the paint on the doors is not as good as the rest of the vehicle. As expected on a vehicle of this age there are a number of scratches and dents. the worst being a small dent/puncture in the front RH fender. The 1988 Defender 90 CSW V8 is fitted with the 3.5L engine with Stromberg Carburettors . It has a 5-speed manual transmission which can be used in either high range or low range when driving off road. It has a mechanically locking center differential that can be locked when using low range gearing.Ebay doesn't recognize the Vin as it is an import, the Vin is SALLDVBV7EA347266.

This this is a superb opportunity to purchase a totally stunning and original early Td5 Defender. You will not find a better and more original example than this. It is perfect in every way! On driving and inspecting you would think it was 4 or 5 years old. We had to look at it very carefully to convince ourselves that it was not a later vehicle. All the numbers match, all the papers are genuine and the bolts in the chassis all confirm its genuine age. They say if it's too good to be true then it probably isn't.... Well this is! The Td5 was without doubt the best engine Land Rover ever made. It was designed built under BMW ownership and refined and sold under Ford ownership. These models show all the hallmarks of German design and engineering. If you have ever driven a Rover engine Defender then you know they lack a bit of power. These Defenders have tons of power and bags of low down torque. I wouldn't personally own or drive anything less. We can send photos of any areas required... Just ask. This is the highest spec you could buy in 2001. It has both ABS and air conditioning. Both exceptionally hard to find on an original vehicle. We will treat the chassis with Dinitrol anti-rust treatment inside and out. We use a liquid form on the inside which runs into all areas and coats the inside to prevent rust as much as possible. Chassis photos are pre-treatment. We have fitted military matting in the front of the vehicle. Beware of those that have had modifications. This is totally original. This is a great opportunity to get a Defender 110 Hi-cap that is already stateside, legal, and registered. These trucks get harder and harder to comeby at reasonable prices each year. This is a good example, is the perfect camping / adventuremobile...or you can drive it as-is reliably as a daily driver. Everyone has their own ideas of what they need in a rig and that's why we are letting this one go unrestored. In short, this great example is entirely up to you to personalize and build as you see fit. (We will gladly lend a hand of course) 100% legally imported and registered in the State of West Virginia. She is currently parked up at our shop in the Martinsburg region, where we restore these vehicles. Given we charge folks $40 to work on these trucks i simply have run out of time to work on my own projects and this happens to be one of those. Yes you are more than welcome to come and look. I will also gladly restore the vehicle for you, but be advised the earliest i could take on that work would be mid March. For a 32 year old vehicle it is in average shape. It suffers from the standard Defender issues that come with a vehicle of this age. —> As you can see in the images, she could do with a set of new wing panels. Yes, we have these parts laying around and will gladly sell you the items needed. Installation could also be negotiated. —> Doors are in terrific shape —> Bulkhead has been repaired with the right panels, metal!!!! NOT BONDO! —> She drives well, manages to do 60-65, and goes around corners the way she should. I will tell you that the car does shudder due to original bushings in the suspension all the way around. —>Frame requires a good undercoating. Yes i inspected it with a boroscope and this is why i bought the vehicle initially for restoration. —> Paint leaves much to be desired, and i recommend you strip it and have it repainted. This way you know the bones with which you are working rather than buying a “freshly painted truck” which in our experience always hides $$$ in the form of tons of rust. —> This truck actually has only 54K miles. This is verifiable with old paperwork that we received with the vehicle. This really is quite low mileage for one of these, as many you see have over 200k miles and or no documentation. The rest: I have personally driven the vehicle and know how what and where, and will gladly answer any concerns you may have. In my opinion (grew up in the back of a 109 station wagon, rrc and defender restorationist, and owned every ladder chassis landy aside from a forward control) it is, a good truck mechanically, certainly on par to the trucks we usually deal with and repair. As with all trucks this age i do recommend you change all the rubber bushings out, as this is often overlooked by novice sellers. Fluids have been checked, but they are not serviced. I do recommend you fully service the truck upon taking delivery. Easy truck to work on and i will gladly lend a hand via the phone/skype if you get stuck. Please remember, this vehicle is now 32 years old and as such has the normal expected wear for it's age due to its originality. Please do not come or bid expecting a showroom 110. If that is what you are looking for you are going to pay 70K+. That being said, it is a great truck that is the perfect starting point for your own adventure lifestyle for years to come. This Defender is in great running order, starts right up every time! Everything is working as designed. Very clean. Body and interior are in fantastic shape. Paint is a bit tatty, but not horrible. It is not very often that you come across totally genuine early Land Rover Defenders. By this age they have normally been updated and turned into clones of the more modern vehicles with 300tdi and later engines, new doors and by this age a new chassis. This one is none of those. It is a totally original. It has come from the Dutch military some years ago and has the original chassis stamp with the British Leyland logo at each end of the chassis number. Something you cannot get a copy stamp of!This vehicle has had only two owners from 1986 to 2014. So… it’s a D reg 1986/7 build date car with a UK registration certificate showing date of first registration in the UK as 10-6-1999 and so however you skin it its over 25 years old. The Land Rover Heritage Certificate shows it as a 1986/7 car and the build date reflects this. The chassis number also confirms this date.It’s basically a project! The chassis is good but not good enough to galvanise in our professional opinion. If you wanted to save some money and liked welding it could easily be saved as most of it is good. With the cost of shipping chassis around the country/globe it may be worth it. The bulkhead also needs work but it is certainly good enough to have some repairs and then to go for galvanising. That’s what we would do to it. It has split top doors… not my favourite so I would fit one piece doors. The engine is a NA and is not the most powerful. We could happily fit something later but that’s up to you and the risk of damaging its originality. The rear door could be replaced with a swing away rear door not a drop down. Up to you what you want to do about originality. Best thing about this car is that it has a valid UK MOT and is left hand drive so it can be used on the road now. Buy it as a project for the spring or get us, as professionals, to make it into what you want it to be. We are happy either way. You won’t get better value for money workmanship and advice is free if you want to do it yourselves. Happy to make it into a kit for you and ship all the parts you need. This is a superb opportunity to purchase a totally genuine, unmolested and untouched left hand drive Defender 110 County Station Wagon (CSW) with the superbly powerful 2.5 TD5 Engine, without doubt the best engine Land Rover ever produced for day to day use, assembled and manufactured under the BMW ownership of the group. It is mated to the much stronger R380 manual gearbox. In line with our Mission Statement this car is being marketed and sold as is. We do not do any work to them prior to advertising and photographing, as you will see from our other sales, we sell them as they are so you can see what you are getting. This car has NEVER had any paint work and has been a 1 owner car since 2000. This is the best sort of car to buy, when you keep a car for this long it is because you have looked after it. The reality with this one is that it just hasn’t been used. It has lived its life in Portugal in a rust free and ideal environment for vehicle longevity. The chassis is perfect and has never been underbody protected and we won’t either unless asked to do so. All numbers match and are clearly visible. The car done an incredibly low 86,000 km, that’s only 57,000 miles. There are so few around with that sort of mileage, especially in Left Hand Drive. I have driven this car for the last few days and it is lovely. It does need work to be perfect as you would expect and we would be happy to do those bits for you but equally you can sort these out yourselves. Here we have a superb opportunity to purchase a genuine Defender 110 County Station Wagon that was first registered on 1st May 2000, making it just over 25 years old. The papers show it as having 2 registered keepers, the last being a security company in the UK. This is very much a project! It needs a new chassis (frame) and we are happy to fit one prior to the sale of the vehicle. We are listing it as it stands but can happily quote for any works you would like done. We strongly advise you to let us fit a new galvanised frame prior to purchase but if you fancy this job yourself we can guide you through the process. It is, after all, what we do everyday! The V8 engine was rebuilt a few years ago by JE Engineering in the UK. They completely rebuild the engines and are V8 specialists. You can’t get a better engine rebuild. The valve covers are printed with their name on them so you have complete reassurance. It drives really nicely and has loads of power. Now this engine also has had an lpg conversion done on it. It runs beautifully on LPG and petrol but we are more than happy to remove the lpg system if this not something you want. It is a very cheap fuel in the Uk and was a popular conversion but personally I prefer them running on petrol but that’s up to you. We are currently using it on the lpg system. We have made up a complete spreadsheet on every part of the vehicle that would want attention and can send this on to you. However you wish to approach this project there are huge savings to make over buying from a dealer that has restored this. Get involved early with us and make the decisions about interiors etc or buy as it is being sold and you have a great spring and summer project to get your teeth into. This is a great opportunity to get an entry level low mileage Defender 110 Turbo Diesel that is already stateside, legal, and registered. These trucks get harder and harder to comeby at reasonable prices each year. This example, which will be a great starting point to build your perfect camping / adventuremobile...or you can drive it as-is reliably as a daily driver or on trips. Everyone has their own ideas of what they need in a rig and that's why this one is up to you to personalize and build as you see fit. (We will gladly lend a hand of course) 100% legally imported and titled in the State of Virginia. Title in hand. Truck gets a lot of attention and people always have a talk when i get out of it. For a 28yr old vehicle it is average shape. Frame is rot free and not covered in rust, yes inevitably it may need some paint and undercoating and even a minor repair, but it is 28 years old, and certainly viable and not rotten. As with any land rover rust areas, such as the door bottoms and bulkhead is inevitable. Having said that, the doors are viable for repair, and certainly are not throw away unlike half the doors we see on trucks like these. The bulkhead, will need extensive repair. I will gladly help in the process of sourcing and or fixing the doors via the company i run, or even repair or replacing the bulkhead. Defenders of this vintage all have bulkhead issues, as they tend to last about 5-10 years before rust sets in and starts eating away at the metal. So be weary of “totally original cars” with perfect bulkheads, simply said they do not EXIST!!! Nonetheless, paint and flawless exteriors are not what it's about with this kind of vehicle, as you would buy it for its legendary status and capabilities. I have driven it all over the place and would gladly ship it for you by driving it to you!!! (some compensation is to be expected for time, fuel, etc... etc...) In short, a very good truck perfect for a build-up or driving it just as it is! Remember, this vehicle is now 28yrs old and as such has the normal expected wear for it's age due to its originality. For a 29 yr old vehicle it is in good shape. Frame is rot free and not covered in rust, yes this has been thoroughly inspected both on the ground and in the air. Very cool and a dead give away to the quality of this car is that the door bottoms are still intact and are original. Corners on the bulkhead, as per usual on all Defenders this age, are bad and should be addressed in the foreseeable future. I do work on these vehicles all the time and the repair cost for this should be around the $1200 mark. Nonetheless, paint and flawless exteriors are not what it's about with this kind of vehicle, as you would buy it for its legendary status and capabilities. I have driven it all over the place and would gladly ship it for you by driving it to you!!! (some compensation is to be expected for time, fuel, etc... etc...) In short, a very good truck that has been a good friend both here and in Europe. This vehicle is now 29yrs old and as such has the normal expected wear for it's age due to its originality. Please do not come expecting a showroom 90. If that is what you are looking for you are going to pay 60K+ in the USA.
