1966 Jaguar XKE Series One 2+2 The Jaguar E type is one of the most enduring and iconic designs from the golden era of sports cars. The earliest "Series One" cars are considered to be the most desirable of all, with covered headlights and simpler, proven mechanicals. This car came to us from a long-term, enthusiast owner and was relatively local. According to the heritage certificate, it is a numbers matching unit and maintains its factory color configuration of cream over a red interior. This combination is stunning in person and suits the lines of the Jag well. The paint and chrome on this car are very presentable but not perfect. There are several minor "bubbles" in the paint that are visible at about 3 feet. The chrome is all original. The mechanicals are excellent having been carefully maintained with judicious improvements made to improve drivability. The car starts very easily and is excellent to drive. The early XKE market has been very strong over the last few years; an early restored roadster just sold at auction for nearly $450,000. The 2+2 may be less desirable than the coupe or roadster but represents an opportunity to get into an iconic design at a comparatively reasonable price. A local viewing and inspection is welcome with appointment. We are happy to help buyers worldwide with shipping and freight logistics.

I purchased this car from two brothers who purchased the car in 1976. It has been Fla car since new. I am a pediatric dentist and the previous owner is the father of one of my patients. He knew that I am a Jaguar FANATIC as I have had at least two Jags in the driveway for the last 30 years. This has always been a car that I dreamed of owning and when I saw it i just had to have it. I have all the original books and have complete records of restoration. Every thing was in the original Jaguar factory boxes. The car has a factory right door mirror bought in Coventry, England by one of the brothers The brother lost interest after stock piling all the necessary parts for the restoration and it sat for years. I replaced the York a/c compressor with a modern Japanese rotary compressor and the alternator with one from GM. All carpets and leather are new. The car is all original panels, bonnet, doors, and hatch. It has NO rust repairs. Bumpers are original. Eyebrows and ashtray were re chromed the car had steel wheels and center hubcaps. They were replaced with knock off spindles and Dayton wire wheels. Included is a new knock off hammer. The wind screen had fogged in the right corner so a brand new Triplex XXX was installed. All window rubbers are new. The aluminum manifold and Strombergs have been polished. This is a cash sale. Not interested in any kind of trades. Any ?'s please call me at 727 410 2266

In the care of a long term owner the car was purchased in 1996 with just 35,000 miles on it, so in the intervening 20 years he only put 5,000 miles on the car. We recently acquired the car from his estate, and have found it to be an exceptional original car. It runs and drives absolutely perfectly, I have personally put about 2000 miles on the car taking it to a 2 concours and driving it on local tours, and its really a great car!  The exhaust note is simply intoxicating, it handles perfectly, shifts smoothly, brakes work perfectly, its fast and nimble, goes down the road straight and true. The car is in excellent condition throughout, and the seats exhibit just the right amount of patina. They would redye well but we have chosen to leave them as is. The often collapsed head rest foam is in good order here owing to its indoor storage. There are some minor paint chips here and there and a scratch on the drivers side of the bonnet, but these are visible only upon close inspection and are easily touched up, I had the paint professionally matched, which is included, and have done some touch up, but with more time I think you can avoid a repsray, whichis alwyas good on an original survivor like this.  All gauges work but the tach does stick from time to time. Car runs cool and does not overheat even on very hot days. This unusual color combination is quite striking in person, I am not sure these photographs really do the car justice. There are many hard to find original items under the hood that are often gone in these cars such as the vacuum hose connector, the undercarriage shield, and much more. This is really a pretty amazingly well preserved example. I have found no rust. The original top does have a few tears on the drivers side where it stresses when collapsed, but otherwise this car needs nothing but a happy new owner. Books, tools, and records, accompany the car. I have priced the car to sell under the market for these cars allowing for you to do the minor touch up need and be ahead of the game. This really is one of the best Series III Jags your going to find, a car you will be glad you bought and will put a big smile on your face every time you get behind the wheel. This is the one to buy if you are looking for Series III in something other than Red or BRG. This is a truly great car that has been loved and maintained properly its whole life.  I would love to add this car to my collection, but have no more room, and its not supposed to be my job to keep every great car I get in.   The stunning color combination on this fully decked out 4 speed factory A/C car make this a sure bet for increased appreciation as the XKE market continues to accelerate. We have many more photographs of this car, please click on any image to be taken to our full-size image list! Founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company in 1922, by two motorcycle enthusiasts, William Lyons and William Walmsley, the SS Jaguar name first appeared on a 2.5 litre saloon in 1935. The Jaguar name was given to the entire company in 1945 when the SS was dropped due to lack of popularity from WWII. Jaguar made its name in the 1950s with a series of elegantly-styled sports cars and luxury saloons. The company bought the Daimler Motor Company (not to be confused with Daimler-Benz), in 1960 from Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA). From the late 1960s, Daimler was used as a brand name for Jaguar's most luxurious saloons. The Jaguar company started production with the pre-war 1.5, 2.5 and 3.5 litre models which used engines designed by the Standard Motor Company. The 1.5 litre four-cylinder engine was still supplied by Standard but the two larger six-cylinder ones were made in house. These cars have become known unofficially as Mark IVs. The first post war model was the 1948 Mark V available with either 2.5 or 3.5 litre engines and had a more streamlined appearance than pre-war models, but more important was the change to independent front suspension and hydraulic brakes. The big breakthrough was the launch in 1948 of the XK120 sports car, with the new XK twin overhead camshaft (DOHC) 3.5 litre hemi-head six-cylinder engine designed by William Heynes, Walter Hassan and Claude Baily. This engine had been designed during the long nights during the war when they would be on fire watch in the factory. After several attempts a final design was arrived at. That is until owner William Lyons said "make it quieter". The car had originally been intended as a short production model of about 200 vehicles as a test bed for the new engine until its intended home, the new Mark VII saloon, was ready. The XK120's reception was such that production continued until 1954; it was followed by the XK140, the XK150, and the E-Type, keeping Jaguar in the sports car market. The E-type was initially designed and shown to the public as a grand tourerin two seater coupé form (FHC or Fixed Head Coupe) and as convertible (OTS or Open Two Seater). The model was made in 3 distinct versions generally referred to as "Series 1", "Series 2" and "Series 3". A transitional series between Series 1 and Series 2 is known unofficially as "Series 1½". Series 2 cars such as this one feature Open headlights without glass covers (Earlier cars had problems with misting, despite gaskets), a wrap-around rear bumper, re-positioned and larger front indicators and taillights below the bumpers, better cooling aided by an enlarged "mouth" and twin electric fans, and uprated brakes are hallmarks of Series 2 cars. De-tuned in US, but still with triple SUs in the UK, the engine is easily identified visually by the change from smooth polished cam covers to a more industrial 'ribbed' appearance. Late Series 1½ cars also had ribbed cam covers. The interior and dashboard were also redesigned, with flick switches being substituted for rocker switches that met U.S health and safety regulations. The dashboard switches also lost their symmetrical layout. New seats were fitted, which purists claim lacked the style of the originals but were certainly more comfortable. Air conditioning and power steering were available as factory options. It was available in FHC, OTS, and 2+2 versions. The E type is generally considered one of the seminal sports car designs of all time, in fact it was displayed in the Museum of Modern Art due to its stunning lines. No collection is complete without an E type. Our Ebay Policies: Significant Cars is one of the largest Collector Car Brokers and Dealers in the Country.  Since 2003 we have worked hard to "change the way collector cars find new homes" by providing unparralleled web presentation of the cars we are representing.  Most of our cars have over 30 photographs, and these can be viewed by visiting our website (our eBay handle dot com), or by clicking on any of the photographs in the black background area of our EBay listings.  We welcome your call with any questions about any of our listings at anytime at 800-837-9902 and certainly encourage your personal inspection of any of the cars we are selling-just call us and we will be happy to set up an appointment for your to see and test drive the car. We realize that eBay is a difficult venue to properly evaluate an item as complex as an automobile.  You can feel secure bidding with confidence on any of our cars since we guarantee your satisfaction!  Should you win the auction and come to see the car and decide you do not want it for any reason, no negative feedback will result, any deposit you may have paid will be cheerfully refunded. 1966 Jaguar E-Type Roadster VIN 1E12387. ALL MATCHING NUMBER (original factory data plate included), second owner vehicle since 1989. This car is being sold with all numbers matching frame, engine, transmission, cylinder head and original 3x S.U. carbs with the original tags. Approximately 40,350 original miles on this vehicle. This vehicle is being sold with two (2) engines. The original matching number(s) engine/ cylinder head with less than 19,000 miles is in proper storage and ran very well when removed, ready to ship (engineshipping dot com). The original engine although in excellent condition, was replaced with the present engine, a, newly built modified 4.2 ltr. Jaguar six with uprated Jaguar rods,Venolia forged pistons, fully uprated cylinder head. Original radiator, alternator, starter, brakes, springs that were replaced with ‘aftermarket’ or modified Jaguar parts are included with this vehicle and were functional when removed. Presently tuned for premium octane unleaded, the modified engine is very strong, yet flexible, drives easily in traffic and with no overheating. Interested buyers should contact seller *now* with request for details of all modifications, etc. and any questions regarding this vehicle including specific photo request. A Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate comes with the vehicle showing serial number data and originality specification information as well as documents, shop receipts verifying mileage, history. Vehicle was repainted black with a Connolly leather/ wool, biscuit color interior 1989 along with new cloth top. Vehicle has always been garaged by owner in a humidity controlled environment and has a solid frame and body. Frame has never been removed. Much effort and cost has gone into fully sorting out and with proper maintenance making this a great driving E-type. It is a driver’s car! Hands off steering and braking at most any speed. It will cruise effortlessly all day at modern interstate highway speeds with a 3.07 differential gearing. It has no need for a 5-speed and pulls the original 4 speed gears impressively with way over 300 lb/ft of torque and 100+ horsepower over the standard factory engine. This car wants to go and is deceptively fast, however, docile in traffic. See the brief video at advert # 1724001 Hemmings online. In 2011 the rear cage was dropped and all seals (output shafts, pinion, differential) were replaced. Rear brakes were rebuilt at Apple Hydraulics. Rear cage and associated parts repainted. New rubber cage mounts were added along with new internal Koni shock bump stops. An aluminum rear differential cover was added with a Cometic cover gasket and fresh Redline lube. Results: An E-type that doesn't drip fluids on the ground!! In 2012 the engine in car was freshened by honing cylinder bores, cleaning/ coating pistons with ceramic crowns and coated side skirts. New Hastings piston rings were installed. That cylinder head was at that time cleaned, CC'd for chamber volume balance, checked for straightness, valve springs checked, full valve job and pressure check. new Cometic head gasket installed. Lighter weight tappets installed. Also, in 2012, a new Cometic engine sump gasket was installed as was a new rear crankshaft seal and some various engine rubber hoses. In 2013 the original style SU fuel pump was repalced with the same, onlt rebuilt for ethanol fuels. An inline electronic fuel pump was added for "on the go" redundancy. All non-metal fuel lines replaced with better lines. In 2015 one road wheel was re-trued and one spoke replaced. Also, four new 205/ 15" tires mounted with new tubes and balanced. 2015, New front brake rotors (Willwood: Spec 37) and replaced front brake pads. Wheel bearings checked/ adjusted. Brake and clutch fluids replaced. Steering column bush replaced. Front / rear brake balance adjusted. Upper front ball joints replaced. Vehicle alignment was checked and toe in adjusted. Alignment specs available/ included in documents.Installed new/ stock instrument panel lamps. Uprated flasher and turn signal switches. June 2015: New ITG megaflow air filter and oil/ oil filter change before sitting up for summer now. The engine oil is changed allot 1) to stay clean preventing wear on engine and 2) so gasoline and contaminants that mix with the oil don't adversely affect engine wile sitting during summer down time. This vehicle, over the last 20 years has been specified to enhance performance, drive-ability and safety through modern E-type specific upgrades that ensure pleasure of driving without undue compromise to noise, suspension compliance or engine tractability in traffic. All of this has been done without blatant compromise to this vehicle’s excellence in its original design. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE

In the care of a long term owner the car was purchased in 1996 with just 35,000 miles on it, so in the intervening 20 years he only put 5,000 miles on the car. We recently acquired the car from his estate, and have found it to be an exceptional original car. It runs and drives absolutely perfectly and even the A/C works. The car is in excellent condition throughout, and the seats exhibit just the right amount of patina. They would redye well but we have chosen to leave them as is. The often collasped head rest foam is in good order here owing to its indoor storage. This unusual color combination is quite striking in person, I am not sure these photographs really do the car justice. There are many hard to find original items under the hood that are often gone in these cars such as the vacuum hose connector, the undercarriage shield, and much more. This is really a pretty amazingly well preserved example. The original top does have a few tears on the drivers side where it stresses when collapsed, but otherwise this car needs nothing but a happy new owner. Books, tools, and records, accompany the car. 1963 Jaguar XKE Series 1 Roadster. This is a long time Florida car and was last running roughly a year ago. Solid restoration candidate looking to need mostly cosmetic work. The underside looks very solid, the drivers side looks to have had a bit of work at one point, the passenger side is excellent. Obviously, this car has been repainted in bright yellow. The original color looks to be an off white/beige. We are happy to help buyers world wide with shipping. A local viewing is welcome and encouraged with appointment.

A prime example of Jaguar's very comfortable, sporting four-speed V12 2+2 coupe. This early production, high compression Series 3 has had only two previous owners, and had been carefully stored by the second (lady) owner for 25 years. Prior to my ownership, the car was last registered in 1987, and is original in almost all respects, and is a remarkably well preserved example. The first owner sold the car after nine months to the second female owner. She drove the car for business and pleasure for about 15 years, when (so her husband tells me) she purchased a Primrose E-Type roadster. At this time, the engine, clutch and transmission were rebuilt by well known Jaguar specialists Consolidated Auto Works in Portland Oregon prior to the car's storage, and since then has only covered 200-300 miles. Finished in it's factory Pale Primrose with Beige leather interior, the car has been garaged from new and is entirely free of rust or any rust repair. It is all original on the inside except for new headlining and floor mats. The bonnet of the car was refinished by the previous owner because the factory lacquer was cracking, but the remainder of the paint appears original and in very nice condition. All chrome is in very good condition, and the eagle-eyed will spot the original equipment wiper arms and the early production straight handbrake. The headlights, rear lights and other lenses are the original 1971 Lucas items, and the exhaust is the original BL unit. The quad fantail has obviously been replaced in the last few years, and the sound is, as someone put it, "race bred and exotic". All electrics work, including gauges, turn signals, hazard warning etc. as does the air conditioning, which blows cold. The car has great oil pressure, and the gauges show the electrical system charging properly. Just like my Mk2 and 420, this Jaguar does leak a little oil, but certainly does not burn any as the engine is in rude health and has plenty of "go". The car's suspension has also been rebuilt in the last couple of years with new bushings and Koni shocks. It is tight, and tracks straight as an arrow down the street. The brake master and clutch master have also been replaced within the last 12 months. Dunlop tyres are nearly new, and the spare is the original 205 SP sport. The fuel tank is in great shape, and the gauge reads accurately. I can't think of anything else right now, but will upload a video in the next few days of the car starting, running, driving etc. Full set of pictures here: http://www.use.com/editset.pl?set=1e86eacb683835314667 Thanks for viewing.
