Ladies & Gentlemen, From Los Angeles, California, the Jaguar! Here's a 1969 Jaguar XKE 2+2 Left hand drive U.S. Delivery coupe, sold new by Charles Hornberg Jaguar on Wilshire Boulevard! It has its original engine, and it runs great - with a recent engine-out servicing and re-seal with receipts. . That is a handsome car, with wire wheels, factory air conditioning, 4.2 litre 6 cylinder overhead cam engine, Borg Warner automatic transmission, 4 wheel disc brakes, and independent front and rear suspension. . The Red leather interior is a perfect color choice against the silver exterior. . Jaguar got the styling just right! . Pretty! Here it is in operation! . Very pretty indeed! . Very nice chromium plating up front! . Sharp! . Its a series 2 Jaguar, from the series built from 1968 to 1970, with 6 cylinder engine and open headlights. . Chrome wire wheels really make the car! and notice how nice these wheels are, the chrome is excellent. . Good California undercarriage, with very recent dual exhausts from front to back. we'll see more of that in the undercarriage photos. . Very nice red leather interior. . Beautiful wood rimmed steering wheel, extremely clean dash, brilliant instruments. . Nice! . The leather is in good shape. I noted some wear on the center console pad. . The "+2" section . very nice. . Nice doorpanel and door edge. . Clean rear shelf . Nice wire wheel spare . Nice spare floor, rust - free, with jack pouch. . Jack and handle with pouch. . There's the 4.2 litre Engine, the original engine for this car. Extensive recent service. . Twin Stromberg-Zenith Carburettors, spelled the English way! . Nicely porcelainized exhaust manifolds. This view shows the air compressor. The A/C is all hooked up but does not blow cold. . This is a race-bred machine to be sure. . Wow! . There's the engine number - 7R36008-9, which tells us it was a 9 to 1 compression ratio engine. This engine is still in the car. . 1R40980BW is the car number, and it tells us this is a Left Drive 2+2 coupe, with Borg Warner automatic transmission. there is also a vin tag on the driver's windshield post that matches. The title is correct and matches the car. The paperwork is clean and the car will export with no problem. . Here's the VIN tag on the left windshield pillar, which matches the data plate and the title. , . Title VIN matches the Car VIN. . . The front subframe must have been changed, this is from an earlier car. . Here's the original owner, from Beverly Hills, CA. . Original warranty / Service book . Original Owner's manual . And plastic Jaguar document folio. . The paint job is an older one, and it looks like there are some flat spots, most notably on the roof and on the left front fender, shown below. . There's a flat spot just to the left of the chrome bead line. . Clean engine, very recent dual exhausts, and clean, dry, original floors. . Excellent lower doors, no rust here. . Super solid floors and rocker panels. . I put a magnet to the lower portion of the body, and the magnet sticks . This car shows the reason why California cars have a great reputation for solid bodies and rust free sheetmetal. . Nice under the rear section of the body . Here's the left side lower rear sheetmetal. . Some small flaws in the chrome on the rear bumper. . It's a pretty car, and one with good history and care. . Nice! . You are bidding on a mint condition, 1970 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 Coupe. First introduced in 1961, the E-Type was described by Enzo Ferrari as "The prettiest car of all time". The E-Type is a definitive icon of 1960s motoring along such classics as the Ferrari 250 and the Corvette Stingray. This E-Type is a later Series II model, featuring a 4.2L straight six engine mated to a four speed manual gearbox for sporty driving characteristics. This car was imported from Long Island, NY to Montreal, Canada by myself personally. I have owned it for the past 8 years and in that time it was always properly stored in a heated garage during the cold winter months. This car is not a "garage queen", it is ready to drive, just turn the key and go. The car turns heads and receives attention wherever it goes. ExteriorThe exterior of this E-Type is in excelled condition for its age. All chrome trim pieces are in place and do not show any signs of rust. It features North American-spec wrap around chrome bumpers front and rear. There are small scratches in the paint on one side of the hood, they are not noticeable unless closely looked at. Barring these blemishes, the paint can be described as "very good". This car retains the correct uncovered headlamps, which were characteristic of Series II cars. The wire-mesh chrome rims are in great condition, with no signs of curb rash. InteriorThis car has the original leather seats which were installed at the factory. The leather does exhibit some cracking (see photos). All switch gear and dials are original and they are all functional. I replaced the radio with a modern single-DIN head unit. The headliner was professionally reupholstered last year. Additional work was done to strengthen the driver's and passenger's side floorboards. EngineThis E-Type starts every time and drives exceptionally for a car of its vintage. The car is very agile, featuring four wheel disk brakes and independent suspension. The four-speed transmission engages every gear smoothly. The twin exhaust tips provide a sporty sound without being overpowering at cruising speed. The engine runs strong and pulls in any gear. Several mechanical upgrades were done, including: Brake master cylinder replacedRadiator hoses replacedUpgraded electric fan installedClutch master and slaveRear brakesRebuilt alternatorNew BatteryAll work was carried out by a local garage specializing in antique exotic cars. The car is listed as-is, with no warranty. All descriptions accurate to the best of my knowledge. Flexible with shipping arrangements, international buyers welcome. I reserve the right to end the auction early without warning.

A prime example of Jaguar's very comfortable, sporting four-speed V12 2+2 coupe. This early production, high compression Series 3 has had only two previous owners, and had been carefully stored by the second (lady) owner for 25 years. Prior to my ownership, the car was last registered in 1987, and is original in almost all respects, and is a remarkably well preserved example. The first owner sold the car after nine months to the second female owner. She drove the car for business and pleasure for about 15 years, when (so her husband tells me) she purchased a Primrose E-Type roadster. At this time, the engine, clutch and transmission were rebuilt by well known Jaguar specialists Consolidated Auto Works in Portland Oregon prior to the car's storage, and since then has only covered 200-300 miles. Finished in it's factory Pale Primrose with Beige leather interior, the car has been garaged from new and is entirely free of rust or any rust repair. It is all original on the inside except for new headlining and floor mats. The bonnet of the car was refinished by the previous owner because the factory lacquer was cracking, but the remainder of the paint appears original and in very nice condition. All chrome is in very good condition, and the eagle-eyed will spot the original equipment wiper arms and the early production straight handbrake. The headlights, rear lights and other lenses are the original 1971 Lucas items, and the exhaust is the original BL unit. The quad fantail has obviously been replaced in the last few years, and the sound is, as someone put it, "race bred and exotic". All electrics work, including gauges, turn signals, hazard warning etc. as does the air conditioning, which blows cold. The car has great oil pressure, and the gauges show the electrical system charging properly. Just like my Mk2 and 420, this Jaguar does leak a little oil, but certainly does not burn any as the engine is in rude health and has plenty of "go". The car's suspension has also been rebuilt in the last couple of years with new bushings and Koni shocks. It is tight, and tracks straight as an arrow down the street. The brake master and clutch master have also been replaced within the last 12 months. Dunlop tyres are nearly new, and the spare is the original 205 SP sport. The fuel tank is in great shape, and the gauge reads accurately. I can't think of anything else right now, but will upload a video in the next few days of the car starting, running, driving etc. Full set of pictures here: http://www.use.com/editset.pl?set=1e86eacb683835314667 Thanks for viewing.
