Normal.dotm 0 0 1 665 3796 LTP 31 7 4661 12.0 0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false 1973 Ford Country SquireAn original California car. It’s only original once. Gold Glow paint, engine and upholstery. I believe we are the second owners. Bought wagon from a guy in Burlingame, near San Francisco, California in 1995. He had the dealer put in a special Ford transmission for towing a boat. Which he never did, as he threw out his back. Car has about 91k miles which is ok for 40 years, averaging under 2,500 per year. We had it shipped back east about 15 years ago. Always kept in a dry de-humidified garage. Never driven in snow or salt roads. Never in rain. Serviced every 3,000 miles oil, filters and lube. Surprisingly fast with the 400 cu inch V8 giving it a smooth ride. Always starts, Had the distributer changed over to electronic ignition as the points on these Fords needed changing a lot. "...converting your car from a points-and-condenser ignition system to a more modern magnetic-impulse electronic system eliminates the need to replace and set points and replace condensers on a routine basis. More importantly, an electronic ignition doubles the amount of spark energy at the sparkplug for quicker starts, more power, and fewer emissions." This is not a trailer queen and shows light normal usage: there are imperfections: a ding here or there, a repaired separation in the original upholstery. AC blows cold, heater works, radio also. Rear window sticks, we stopped powering it up and down years ago.. There are two repairs to original vinyl siding. Overall a 90+ car. Could be driven across the country. Perfect for prop or for movie rental. Hard to find original and in great shape as not many of these were saved, like saving a bus or an ice cream truck from the day. From Wikipedia: "The Ford Country Squire is a full-size station wagon was built by the Ford Motor Company in the United States from 1950 until 1991, encompassing seven model generations. It was the premium station wagon model in Ford's full-size car range throughout this period. The Country Squire was initially built as a full "woodie". After the mid-1950s the rear body was composed of fiberglass covered by a vinyl appliqué printed to simulate wood. Later versions featured an all-steel body and are best remembered for featuring body sides and a tailgate covered by simulated wood trim and panels, however the Country Squire could be purchased without them. Prior to 1974, full-size Ford station wagon models without simulated wood trim were marketed as the Ranch Wagon, Del Rio, Parklane and Country Sedan. Subsequently, all full-size Ford wagons were marketed under the Ford LTD name, including the LTD Country Squire. The Country Squire was based on the Custom Deluxe series in 1950 & 1951, the Crestline from 1952 to 1954, the Fairlane from 1955 to 1958, the Galaxie from 1959 to 1966, and the LTD/LTD Crown Victoria from 1967 to 1991. Due to declining sales, Ford elected to exit the full-size station wagon market after 1991."Please ask questions before bidding. Hope it goes to a good home. You get a lot of waves and thumbs up, lots of "We had one of those when I was a kid…" conversations than you can imagine.Paypal for full amount due at end of auction. You are protected as a buyer. We have a 100% rating and want to keep it that way. Shipping is ok anywhere in the world. We can have car delivered to a port like New Jersey. Many reliable auto transport companies are out there for the USA. We have a professional on premises who can estimate personal delivery on a flatbed also. Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1967 Ford Country Sedan Station Wagon - RARE - $8500 (Or Best Offer) 1967 Ford Country Sedan - the base model. The Country Squire came with the wood trim and the extra seats - see below I have a set for inclusion in the sale! 390 V8 Cubic Inch - Original Engine and Automatic Transmission!Power Steering, Power Brakes Rare -- Original -- Fantastic and Fun! Up for your consideration is a great looking and rare American icon, a 1967 Ford Country Sedan Station Wagon! When was the last time you saw one of these great rides on a trip to the mountains or to the shore? This was the SUV, mini-van, grocery getter and the kids ride to after school activities back in the day! This 1967 wagon has 48k miles on it and title indicates actual, not sure if it was turned over or not. However, I will tell you it rides amazing, and the interior has held up well. This car is presently titled and driven locally without any issues, noises, or rattles. It is so easy to steer and brake for such a large car -- it is a true pleasure to drive! For a 47 year old car, she does have some scratches and dents for her valiant years of service, but by no means, a worn out clunker that like many others wagons of their time. Exterior: The paint is original to the car. As noted, there are some door dings and scratches, but it is the original paint. As they say, it is a "10 footer" -- looks great from 10 feet away! I think a good professional buff would bring out an even better shine. The car did get hit at some point in its life in the left rear tail light. There is a dent there that seems to to have been banged out, but not professionally attended to. Then again, back in the day -- it was the family car, and one would "get by" with a little bit of home made repair! The left rear door opens and closes fine with no evidence of damage. Speaking of the doors, there is no rust or rot underneath and they close quite solid. The door hinges are oiled with no squeaks or rattles. As seen in the pictures, the grille and front end are sound. The hood is straight and no signs of damage or front end collision. Although minor, the right front headlight bezel was tapped and a slight indent on the fender. I am confident you can find a replacement bezel out there. The roof is clean with no signs of excessive use in terms of carrying content, rust or faded paint from the elements. The paint is uniform in appearance and has held up for 47 years. There is some wear on the drivers door as noted in the picture. In terms of rust, there are a few spots. The passenger front fender closest to the ground under the 390 emblem does show some surface rust. The driver side as well, but far less. I am confident this can be repaired with little effort. The right rear spare tire well looks like there has been some patch work. Perhaps some sanding and paint will make this look better cosmetically. It's not an eyesore, but if you are a perfectionist, you will want this tended to! There is some rust under both of the rear wheel wells, but again, easily repairable and not a basket case by any means. Take a look at the pictures as they paint a thousand words. I think one of the coolest characteristics about this car is the lift gate! -- it opens like a barn door and pull down like a pickup truck. It has plenty of the room back there. The rear seat also folds down! Talk about a tailgate party and storage! The door does have a small dent, which is minor. The glass goes up and down without a problem. Underneath: The car has held up quite well, one can see that it is not only solid but also no damage. The frame does not show any rot. At most perhaps a pressure wash and detailing with some paint. One can even leave it as is! Interior: It is original to the car and cleans up nicely! There is a small 1 inch tare on the driver's seat. The dash pad had 3 coins glued to it, where one was removed, leaving a hole. The other can be removed via a heat gun. The dashboard is beautiful as are the door cards! The rug is original and can use a cleaning. The floors are solid. Please note, in the rear of the car by the tailgate is a storage area. It is very solid and clean. It has the original mat still in place, no rot or holes! Please note, the Country Squire did come with jump seats, the Country Sedan did not. However, I do have a set from another car that will be included in the sale. There are some mounting brackets too if you desire to put them in. If not, you can probably sell it on the open market and make some money! It even has a tissue dispenser from the factory! I also believe the cup holder on the console (not pictured) came as an accessory as the color corresponds to the color of the carpet! The carpet could use a shampoo, but not excessively worn. Maintenance: The car has a new master cylinder and brake lines. The car stops evenly and quite responsive. The engine has relatively new plugs, wires and points. It starts and runs nicely. Tires seem in good order. No evidence of excessive / uneven wear or dry rot. The parking gear was broken in the transmission. This has been repaired, fluids and filter changed, and works as it should! Of note: The directional signals do not work. They have been unplugged on the steering column. I have not looked into this yet. Engine and Transmission: As you can see the engine bay is clean and it runs great! All fluids are fresh and the powerful 390 pulls the car nicely and it does have pep! It is carrying a full load and quite capable at that! The car shifts great - no slippage noises or concerns. It was serviced as noted above. Drivability: Simply put, this car is a pleasure to drive! It has great acceleration, good braking with no squeaks or pulling. It is a nice quiet ride! The steering and suspension is smooth and easy to manage. I am sure you heard of riding on your living room sofa? This is the epitome of that! This car is presently registered and insured and is driven around town. I get a lot of looks, smiles and "thumbs up"! This car can be used as is or is perfect for a full restoration. The good thing? It is a running / driving car as is -- ready for the summer! Please feel free to ask questions - I am willing to negotiate within reason!Payment is due within 7 days of auctions end in full. Car / title / keys will not be released until all funds clear the bank - no exceptions. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I will help coordinate on my end. Please note, there is no warranty expressed or implied with this sale. Please note, the car is for sale locally, I have the right to end this offering at any time.
