I have a clear and clean PA title to this 1976 Chevrolet Monza. It is currently PA inspected through the end of the year. I bought this car in December 2012 on eBay for $2,300 without a title and with a lot of issues. The last two summers this car was my daily driver for about 40,000 miles of travel and it never let me down. I put quite a bit of work into it to make it dependable, but it has been dependable. My parents had a 1979 Sunbird, basically the same car, so it kind of waxed nostalgic for me and that's the real reason I bought it. I'd like to keep it but I have too many irons in the fire, so it's time to let it go. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly... Right off the line this little car has a lot going for it. So, first, the good:Very solid for this year... The floorboards and everything from in front of the rear wheel wells are solid. The trunk area is also very solid. I'm not talking about the type of "solid" that guys like us who restore old cars and trucks are used to hearing about on eBay and classified ads where you show up to look at it and there is a bunch of sheet metal you could poke your finger through, I mean solid. The bottoms of the doors are rusted out and there is some rust around the rear inner wheel wells but everything else including the floorboards, rocker panels, and trunk are in amazing shape!Extra parts including new steel driver's side door and original style rear spoiler (about $600 worth of extras)Four brand new Kumho Ecsta 4X tires and chrome rims 205/55 R15New Griffin 3-core aluminum radiator 8/25 Update: I was going through my receipts and noticed this is actually a two core radiator, Griffin part number GRI-1-25201-XNew Moog ball joints and tie rod ends (all of them)Recent 5-lug conversion and powder coated front cross member and control arms (also recently computer aligned)New KYB gas-adjust shocks up frontNew Moog V8 coil springs up front (that's why the front sits so high since it still has the aluminum 4 banger)Inspected through the end of the yearNow, for the bad...Folks, this car is a project! It really needs to go to someone who is looking for a project and has the money, the tools, the skills, and the time. I have the money, the tools, and the skills, but I don't have the time! This car would not be a difficult project but there are some things you need to know:There is some structural rust in the layered, reinforced metal around the rear wheel wells; this is not a huge issue if you plan to tub it out which is exactly what I would do if I kept the carThe rear pinion seal is leaking. When I did the 5-lug conversion I turned down a Chevy S10 pinion on the lathe (the inner pinion bearing on a Monza is smaller than an S10) and I got some runout which was just barely noticeable in the backlash on the ring gear. Bottom line is if you want to keep the GM 7.5 rear (I wouldn't) then it may not be a simple matter of changing the seal because the pinion could be the problem. The gears are otherwise quiet and everything else spec'd out normal and I ran it quite a while like this with no noise or problems other than a leaky seal, but personally, I would swap in a Ford 9 inch at this point. The doors are rotted out on the bottom (typical) but it comes with a new driver's door and the passenger's door is fixableIt needs new rear shocks. The front are new but I did not replace the rear and now there is a problem with the left rear shockThe ugly... It's pretty obvious somebody spray bombed this car with rattle cans. That was done before I bought it. I think it was originally burgundy. Obviously, the rattle can crap will have to be removed before any real paint can be appliedThe euro-slider/top-slider style sunroof has to go! I put some camper cap foam gasket under the glass and re-did the urethane seal around the frame so it no longer leaks, but what a fugly sunroof!Policies: As is, no warranty. Cash is preferred but I will accept a cashier's check although I reserve the right to verify any such check before accepting it. Buyer to arrange shipping. Thanks for looking and have a good day!

1961 Corvair Monza was driven sparingly for one year before it was driven into storage and never driven or started again. This car is in need of restoration with visible rot in front trunk. We have not tried to start it since rolling it out of the barn. 4 new tires where put on so we could roll it out and photograph it.The car was purchased in 1976 and stored a year later with 68,100 miles showing on the odometer.

The Buick Skyhawk and Oldsmobile Starfire were the other H body models from GM, but the Monza was the most popular. It was the successor to the Vega. The Spyder nameplate was originally used to designate the 1962-1964 Corvair turbocharged model. The 'Spyder' name was introduced for the Chevrolet Monza in 1976. This package included performance equipment and some small appearance items, depending on the choice of Spyder Equipment or Spyder Appearance, or both. For 1980, the option designation was consolidated to the Spyder Equipment Package, with both appearance and performance options. BR70-13C steel-belted radial ply blackwall tires (with option for raised white lettering), Sport suspension, Black front and rear bumper rub strips, Black headlights frames, Black windshield, belt, side and rear window moldings (not available with black exterior), Black painted body sill (also not available with black exterior), Black door and center pillar louvers, Black painted taillight frames, Body color front air dam and rear spoiler, Spyder emblems on front facia, rear lock cover and sport steering wheel (horn button insert), Black sport mirrors (LH remote, RH manual), Rear Spoiler and body stripes with Spyder lettering outlined in accent body colour, Spyder hood decal, Black painted Rally II wheels with bright trim rings and center caps. There is today a die hard group of Monza enthusiasts. Monza's, both stock and modified, can be seen at shows, cruises, drag strips, and on the streets across the country. The Monza Spyder is at the very top of the popularity scale. Clean body with driver quality paint. However, the paint has a mirror gloss shine. Striping on the car and hood graphics are done in paint. Dark tinted windows. Scooped hood is all steel and was custom fabricated. Front air dam. Dual sport mirrors. Rear spoiler. Custom chrome wheels with radial tires. Ride stance is excellent. Here is a 1981 Corvette project that I have had stored inside for several years. It is a rare combination of dark blue exterior, silver interior, and was a factory 4 speed manual transmission. This was a Texas car and it has a very solid frame, floors, and birdcage. Rear section of the body from the firewall back is in great shape, front clip (nose) was removed due to fiberglass damage. Two front clip sections are included as pictured. Some dash pieces are missing, but the dash wiring is intact. The car has tilt / telescopic steering and power everything (steering, brakes, windows, locks, seat). It was also set up for the rear roof top carrier. No engine or transmission are included. but engine wiring, clutch linkage and shifter linkage are still in place, Basically, what you see in the pictures is what you get. It is ready to restore to original or build into whatever you want such as a resto-mod with newer engine and transmission. I was going to go with either a big block or LS motor with a 6 speed and a tilt front end, but the possibilities are endless. It currently has a clear Illinois title in my name. It's a great project, I just have too many and have decided to sell a few. It can be inspected at any time - I'm about 70 miles southwest of Chicago along I-80. Serious bidders / buyers only, please. Full payment is expected within 7 days. Cash at time of pick-up is best, otherwise buyer must arrange transport after payment clears. I can provide inside storage for up to 30 days as long as the car is paid for in full.
