I’m listing this rare vehicle for a friend. Austin FX4, Austin London Taxicab, titled as 1965 but more likely a 1969/1970, with approximately 45,000 miles on the replacement engine. Jaguar Yellow/ Green exterior, Black interior, Chevy Vortec V6 Engine, Automatic Transmission, radio AM/FM/CD, Air conditioning. Vehicle Condition: You are bidding on an Austin 1969 (Registered in the US as 1965) in great condition inside and out. Car is currently registered and insured in California. Body: no rust, no dents. Glass in very good shape. Paint: Car was painted 10 years ago and still has a hyper glossy British green paint. Paint looks very good and extremely shiny all around; vehicle has been painted with DuPont Chroma base paint and clear coat (label with paint type & code and a quart of paint is included) then wet sanded and polished. The car was stripped completely when painted. Weather-stripping: Most of the door and trunk seals look new. Seals surrounding the front window vents look old but they still do the job. Windshield and rear glass seals look like new. Some window weather stripping in need of replacement. Instruments and Warning lights: All in perfect working condition. All external lights, turn signals, hazard lights, high beams, instrument cluster lights in good working condition. Speedometer and odometer are working fine. Climate Control: Air conditioning blows cold but in hot days lower temperature air is needed to cool the vehicle nicely. A Freon recharge will help. Heater works fine. Interior: Vinyl seats in excellent shape, carpet in excellent shape, Headliner in excellent shape, dashboard in excellent shape, center console in excellent shape, door panels in very good shape. This is a non-smoker vehicle! Headliner: in excellent shape Sound System: Phase Linear brand with CD player and removable face. Speakers only on front doors. Miscellaneous: Jack and wrench included. Haynes service manual for engine and Austin service manual for rest of vehicle are included. Exterior: Chrome bumpers and bumper moldings in very good shape (lights and plastics in very good shape with no fading or cracking). Wheels: Original steel wheels in excellent shape structurally and cosmetically. No curb damage. Tires: tires with plenty of thread left (+60%) in four corners. Spare tire in very good shape. Engine: 3.0 Chevy Blazer Vortec V6 engine in very good condition with just 45,000 miles. Always starts at the first turn, idles smooth, runs great and extremely powerful, doesn’t burn or take any oil. No leaks. There is a squealing noise coming from the belt tensioner. Automatic Transmission: Transmission is the original match for the Vortec engine. Excellent, Shifts smooth and precise, Fluid is Crystal Clear. No noises or weird sounds!! No leaks!! Recently serviced. Suspension and Steering: Excellent ride, feels very solid. Steering has some play (I believe can be manually adjusted from the steering box but have not tried). Also there is a small leak from its bottom seal. When doing a slow sharp turn sometimes you can hear a cracking noise from one of the suspension bushings. Front sub frame bushings look kind of dry but they are pretty solid. Brakes: Good condition. Car stops straight with absolutely no vibrations or noises. Power brakes with double circuit. Brake drums in four corners. Restoration and Modifications: - Chevy Blazer V6 Vortec engine with accompanying automatic tranny – powerful! - Edelbrock manifold and Holley 4160 4-barrel carb - Proform 67080 distributor - New plug wires - Carter GP4594 electric fuel pump - Lokar throttle cable - New aluminum radiator - Rear end gears of 4.00 to replace the 5.00 ones - Rebuilt front end - Top-of-the-line radial tires - Added seat belts, dual exhausts, and some "mellow" mufflers - Upgraded to power brakes using a thru firewall pedal assembly 5303701 from Kugel Komponents, and reworked the firewall to fit an Old Air Products MPC-1100 Heat/Air Conditioning unit; an extra cooling fan sits in front of the condenser, with dash-mounted on/off switch - Lucas wiring was replaced with a universal wiring harness from Summit Engineering; interior has an Autometer full gauge set - Phase Linear CD1211 AM/FM/CD stereo with front door-mounted speakers - Console and gear shift are from the Blazer - Flat, walnut veneer dash crafted to install the HVAC vents and controls, radio, etc., and is easily lowered with just two screws for easy access to wiring - Universal turn signal switch with hazard arm installed - New Wilton carpet in rear Issues: Paint: it is wrinkled at the top of the front grille, front doors are chipped by the front edge, rear left door has a paint bubble of about an inch diameter. If you look at the rear door when light is reflecting there is a long vertical line (about 7” long) that looks like a ding mark. There are some hairline cracks on top of the rear fenders where they sit on the body (I believe the sealer in between cracked over the years). The trunk has some hairline cracks and blemishes. Roof has one or two blemishes. Sunroof does not leak because it has been sealed with silicone sealer or similar that cosmetically does not look very good. Air vent door by the windshield have been sealed and cannot be opened. Windshield washers are sealed and are not operational. I believe all that sealing has been done to avoid a leak that occurs when exposed to rain. Windows have light streaked patina, with most noticeable on front windshield. Right rear window lock not operating properly. Interior heat not routed properly, at least in front. Turn signal indicator is intermittently temperamental. Rubber boot around gear shift needs to be glued down. Rear passenger seat has two seams in need of a tiny bit of re-stitching. Extra, driver door-mounted mirror is useless and s/b removed. Car History: The description above is based on the mechanic’s inspection and comments, and by observing and noting every single feature and defect on this car. You will NOT be disappointed with this vehicle! Don't hesitate to email me, I'll be glad to answer any questions regarding this vehicle. You are welcome to see and test drive the car during the auction. This 46 year old jewel drives excellent, looks nice and needs virtually nothing!! I describe the vehicle as accurately as possible; however there is no way possible to know everything about a vehicle that has been previously driven subjected to normal wear and tear, both cosmetically and mechanically. (Unable to run Carfax report due to vehicle age). Must have the funds available before bidding. Thanks for looking and Happy bidding !!!!!!!!! Terms of Sale: Vehicle is sold as is. No warranty. Balance due within 7 days and payable in cash, cashiers check, or wire transfer. Wire transfer preferred. Note: Cashiers checks usually take longer to clear (California banks place up to 10 days hold on out of state cashiers checks due to fraud protection policies). Car will be released once funds clear in my account. Shipping: Buyer has to make all arrangements with the carrier. I don't provide shipping estimates but I can email you a list of carriers you can call to get shipping quotes.

Happy Holidays. Just in time for father's day. Give yourself and your family a smile with this car. Here is my Austin Countryman Woody. This is a Mk1 1963 Mini with 850 engine and flat roof. Sliding windows and external door hinges. These are very rare. This one is in excellent condition. The interior is basically new having been replaced when I bought the car (and I drive it only rarely). So the inside looks new. The Wood looks great. Overall the car is in a amazing condition. The White (slightly cream color) exterior paint is smooth and looks very good but does have a few small blemishes. (It is not the best paint job imaginable but it is very presentable and from a couple of feet away looks excellent). Mostly small imperfections visible only from close. Come see the car for yourself. It is very nice. The car has installed seat belt. I even put my daughter's baby seat in this car. The car runs strong and can easily be a daily driver. It starts right up. It is really fun to drive. And it is fast enough to go on the freeway but I have not really pushed past 60mph. Lights, blinkers etc all work. The speedo (or the speedo cable) that was installed is wrong so although the speedo needle moves when accelerating, it seems to overestimate the speed. I think the speedo was designed for a different speedo cable and doesn't have the right ratio. No big seal. It needle moves and when it says 80 mph you know you are not going at 80 ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fCcMPRjM_k&list=UUw7cXEbqPGQ6fFphzf2EC5A The front brakes were upgraded to dual leading shoe so it brakes better than the normal 1963. The color combo is the nicest they ever made. You will not be disappointed with this car, as even the paint, which I criticized as not perfect, is still pretty damn good. Don't ask me if the car had bondo etc... I have no idea. I dont see any rust. Car is garaged in Los Angeles. I bought the car basically in this condition about 10 years ago and loved it every time I took it out for a spin. Unfortunately not used often enough to keep it and with my daughter in High School it's time to sell some stuff. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or want to see the car in person. Sold as-is of course for a classic car . It is extremely nice with just enough little imperfections that you wont worry too much about driving it around.
