Thanks to the full-fledged arms race between RAM, Ford and GM, it seems like a new most-capable full-size truck comes out every month. This is especially apparent in the world of turbodiesel pickups, where automakers can increase power and torque by simply rewriting some software. The madness will have to stop at some point, but for now, the RAM HDs 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel is at a ridiculous 865 lb-ft of torque and counting. Fuel Economy The RAM 3500 offers three engines. Standard is a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 rated at 383 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Drivers who want more power can step up to a new 6.4-liter V8, which boasts 410 hp and 429 lb-ft. For the most taxing jobs, theres a 6.7-liter Cummins turbodiesel inline 6-cylinder, which cranks out up to 370 hp and 865 lb-ft of torque with a 6-speed automatic, or 350 hp and 660 lb-ft with a manual. The Environmental Protection Agency doesnt test heavy-duty trucks for fuel economy, but dont get your hopes up as far as fuel costs go. Wed expect around 11 miles per gallon in the city with any engine, or 17 mpg on the highway. Standard Features & Options The RAM 3500 HD offers four trim levels: a base-level Tradesman, a midlevel SLT and luxurious Laramie and Laramie Longhorn models. The RAM 3500 Tradesman ($31,900) is a commercial-oriented workhorse that doesnt include much. Standard features include crank windows, manual door locks, vinyl floor covering and vinyl upholstery. The truck does, however, include air conditioning, cruise control, and a USB port and auxiliary jack for music. Next up is the RAM 3500 SLT ($36,000), which adds cloth upholstery, power accessories, heated mirrors, chrome trim and satellite radio. From there, drivers can upgrade to the RAM 3500 Laramie ($46,200), which is offered as a Crew Cab or an even longer Mega Cab. It boasts features such as dual-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, a center-mounted 8.4-inch touchscreen, power adjustable pedals, heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery and chrome alloy wheels. Safety The 2015 RAM 3500 HD comes with 4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes and four airbags (front and full-length side-curtain). Behind the Wheel The heavy-duty RAM is like the RAM 1500s bodybuilding older brother. Its not quite as refined, but it sure is tough. The coolest thing about the heavy-duty RAM is that you can get a manual transmission with the turbodiesel. Plenty of truck guys still like to shift for themselves, but the RAM HD is the only truck that offers that option. The RAM HDs front seats -- generally a 3-person bench, though the Laramie and Laramie Longhorn also offer two individual bucket seats -- are about what youd expect in a big rig, providing plenty of space. Front passengers will notice that the RAM HDs dashboard is similar to the RAM 1500s, which means theres genuine style and respectable materials quality. Buyer agrees that if the Vehicle is to be shipped, that shipping is Buyer’s responsibility. To the extent that Seller assists Buyer in arranging for shipping, such arrangements are made as a courtesy to Buyer and do not create any liability or responsibility on the part of Seller. We've owned this truck for about 7 years using it occasionally to pull an Airstream, and the a small 5th wheel, but mostly just as an occasional daily driver. Less than 78,000 miles, with no accidents, no paint work, and no problems or issues or stories. This truck is just getting broken in. Daily around-town mileage averages 22MPG! With the Airstream we averaged 20MPG on the highway. And with the 5th wheel we averaged 18MPG on the highway. Interior is in excellent condition. Engine services and all maintenance have been done by Cummins/Dodge techs only. Good batteries. Truck needs nothing.

This item is a Dodge 3500 with a Cummins 12 Valve Turbo Diesel. It has a 5 speed Manual Transmission and is 4 wheel drive. It has power windows and door locks. Intermittent wipers. AC works good. Block Heater and grid heater for easy cold weather starting. Aftermarket AM/FM/CD player. Locking rear differential. Tires on rear are new and front tires are a 2 years old. Both have good tread. Muffler and exhaust has been removed and straight pipe added but not exceptionally loud. New Injectors and Injector Pump at 280,000 miles. New steering box, new front wheel bearings, new brakes and rotors, new u-joints in front axle, new u-joints and carrier bearing in rear driveshaft all in the last 2 years. This was my daily drive until a few weeks ago. I now have another truck and no longer need this one. The truck runs and drives very good......It is not perfect, but a very good work truck. This is a strong running truck and will pull anything. 20 mpg highway non towing and 14 towing backhoe and trailer. Performance Mods: Aftermarket Diesel Power Kit - Adjustable Injector Plate to increase fuel for more power - Set at 80% setting - Turbo Boost Waste Gate limiter - Increased Boost Pressure to 33 psig Both set and tuned to maximize fuel efficiency, but have increased horsepower and torque by 2.7 times above stock. Western Snow Plow: Western 8.5' snow plow. Good working plow with power angle. Pump rebuilt last year. Everything works, all lights work. I have used this for several years with no issues on this truck. Truck is sold in "As-Is" condition with no returns and no warranty.
