For sale is my 1968 Ford Galaxie 500. This car has been in the family since we bought it brand new from City Ford. It's been a California car her whole life. It was garaged most of her life until my dad bought his dream car and moved her outside. She is driven a few times a week and most everything still works after 47 years. This is one of the cleanest Galaxies that has not been restored that you will see. It has power steering, power brakes, air conditioning, AM radio (who needs FM), self powered windows, a big old 390 cubic inch motor with a four barrel. I 'm pretty sure the transmission is a C6 and it looks like a 9"rearend. It has a brand new vinyl top, battery, plugs, and wires. Here are the not so good things. The A/C belt pulley was removed, not sure if compressor works. The carb could use a rebuild, it hesitates a bit under hard acceleration. I think the accelerator pump diaphragm is old. There is some very slight damage to the left rear bumper and quarter panel. The dash has a crack which can be seen in the photo. The rear window panel, the flat piece behind the back seat is weathered. You can see this in the photo. Some of the chrome pieces have dents. It needs tires all around. Also the switch that allows the car to start in park is worn. It will start fine in neutral. The good is it runs well, all the lights work, windows operate properly (driver's side sticks a little, carpet, headliner, and upholstery are very good. If you are living in SoCal you can drive this car home if you win the auction. Feel free to ask any questions. I have the pink slip in hand. Vehicle is currently registered.

1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL Description – Up for auction is this unrestored original 50,100 mile Southern California black license plate 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL 2 door fastback. It has always been garaged and meticulously maintained, has the XL bucket seats and a center console, but it also has a mid-year, fastback roofline. The turquoise blue/green “Ming Green” paint and interior are still the factory original and so is the optional white vinyl padded top. This Galaxie sports an impressive list of extra cost options and accessories: Thunderbird 390 V8 Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission SelectAire air conditioning Power steering Power brakes Power bucket seat StudioSonic reverb with rear seat speaker Vinyl top Remote control fender mirror Ford script seat belts Spinner-wire-style wheelcovers Mechanically, it is in fine condition. With only 50,100 original miles, it runs strong and drives beautifully. The Thunderbird 390 V8 is remarkably powerful and the Cruse-O-Matic automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The car has a smooth and comfortable ride with power and performance. The factory air conditioning blows cold, the power seat, radio and StudioSonic reverb work along with all gauges and lights; however the heater core is disconnected (a new one is included) and the clock has stopped. It still has the original owner’s manual and miscellaneous other documentation from when it was purchased along with service and maintenance records from over the years. The interior is in exceptional original condition. The seats, door panels, headliner, dash pad, and carpet are factory original and in amazing condition. The iridescent Turquoise vinyl just glows! It even has a set of original Ford script seat belts. The trunk is also original and in clean well preserved condition with the original mat, side panels, jack assembly, and factory original spare tire. The floors and entire body are rock solid and straight. The paint is about 95 percent original with only one lower side area touched up. It still has a beautiful shine and remarkable appearance for being 52 years old and metallic! There a few small flaws but overall - it just glows. The chrome, stainless, aluminum trim and glass are all in great shape including the factory original white vinyl top. History – This beautiful Galaxie was the pride and joy of Dr. George and Phyllis Carmichael of Long Beach, California. In 1963 George and Phyllis decided it was time for a new car. They were good friends with C. B. Edwards, the owner of Edwards Ford, Inc. in Dallas Texas. He had just the car for them, sitting in the center of his showroom! The Carmichaels flew to Dallas to visit their friend, purchase this Galaxie, and drive it home on a sightseeing vacation. The Carmichaels lived in a beautiful traditional home they built in 1953 in the Park Estates neighborhood of Long Beach, California. This is where the Galaxie was garaged, driven mostly by Phyllis – running errands to the market and shopping, or to spend afternoons and evenings at the Long Beach Yacht Club and of course, the Country Club. Over the years the Carmichaels owned several Cadillacs, which came and went, but they just couldn’t part with their beloved Galaxie. In the late 1990’s, I was driving through the Park Estates neighborhood, when I spotted the Galaxie in the Carmichael’s garage. That was the beginning of a several year courtship that ended in early 2002, as Phyllis had stopped driving by then and George only took the Galaxie out occasionally on Saturday mornings to golf. They were into their 90’s and decided it was time to let the Galaxie go. George called and said “Phyllis and I aren’t getting any younger – come and get your Galaxie!” Phyllis died a few years later and George died in March 2009 at age 101. I have cared for and enjoyed this beautiful car for many years, as did Phyllis and George before me, but it’s now time for a new owner to have the opportunity to be able to enjoy and care for this amazing Galaxie. This is a stunning low mileage original example of a `63 Galaxie 500 XL, one of the nicest Ford designs of the 1960’s. It has a wonderful original patina about it. It’s well optioned, blessed with an incredible color and in exceptional condition cosmetically and mechanically. It has always been well cared for and cherished - and it shows! Transaction Specifics – No Reserve Auction - open to considering reasonable offers. If you have specific questions please ask. Inspections in person are welcome. This is a 52 year old car and it is not perfect. It is being sold as-is, where-is without any warranty stated or implied. The buyer is responsible for any and all transportation costs. This is a No-Reserve auction. Please do not bid if you are not a serious buyer and do not intend to complete the purchase transaction. If you are the winning bidder, a non-refundable PayPal or wire transfer deposit of $1,000.00 is due within 24 hours. The balance will be due upon pick up of the vehicle, which should be within two weeks. Other arrangements may be negotiated if necessary. The car is for sale locally and the owner reserves the right to cancel and end the listing early. Original 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback Z Code survivor. Built on May 8th, 1968 in Los Angeles. Still wearing most of the original Dark Aqua Metallic paint with a couple correctly colored touch ups over the years. Original Medium AquaCloth with Light Aqua Vinyl interior. Numbers matching with the original Z Code 390ci V8 4V engine, 2.75:1 Rear Axle, and C6 Automatic transmission. The carburetor was upgraded but the original is included. The body is straight and clean without dents or issues. Nearly rust free as shown, even the trunk has zero pin holes and it was wire cleaned to show it thoroughly. All the lights and gauges work with an oil pressure gauge added. Wipers, heater, and A/C all work! The A/C blows cool but it could be colder. The glass is clean and without damage. It is a very original and intact Fastback Galaxie 500. New Cooper Cobra tires all around. It has been gone through and maintained to be a daily driver. It needs nothing as it sits to drive and enjoy it right now. I would trust it to go anywhere. Stays cool, no smoking or leaks to resolve. The C6 transmission shifts flawlessly and the steering is tight. Disc brakes from the factory and they have been redone. All the hoses and belts and other wear items have been replaced for safe driving and reliability. Comes with the original hubcaps, the 65 style caps were put on because they were more appealing. Thousands invested just in all the standard maintenance over the last couple years. I am thinning out my collection to invest my money in my business. I took many pictures this week to show it accurately and thoroughly. I also took a video of it running. Clean California title included and current California registration through the end of 2015. International buyers accepted. I did my best to describe this Fastback 100% honestly and clearly. It is 47 years old and not a perfect new car, but it is in amazing condition especially considering the age. Feel free to email or call/txt with any questions 619-701-8716. Located in San Diego, California.

OK, we all know that you can buy an old Ford station wagon for $500 but not one like this. This 1969 Country Sedan is almost totally original and in really great condition. It has a 429 2bbl, an automatic gearbox, and a Detroit Locker rear end. I can't imagine why someone ordered this spec back in 1969 but maybe they planned on hauling a trailer. However I see no evidence of a trailer hitch ever having been fitted. This car was in Hemmings a few years back. It then ended up on eBay. Here is a copy of the original verbage: "All Original 2 owner car! acquired 1973, 108K mi. C-6 AT OH 1985, 429 V-8, A/C, AM radio, Detroit Locker Rear End, new rear window motor, undercoated, no accidents, garaged 98 percent of lifetime, rack, good tires & brakes, new rear coil springs. Excellent Condition & Super Clean! Runs and Drives Like a Dream! This car was only used for the annual Pheasant Hunting trips to Eastern Washington with all the Italian “Old Timers” and a faithful Golden Retriever named Jack. Thousands of Apples and Peppers came back home in this classic Ford Station Wagon." A customer of mine ended up with the car after the eBay auction and from there it came to me about 3 years ago. In that time I have driven the car maybe 100 miles. When my customer got the car, he took it in to his local classic car shop for a complete going-over. He replaced the front brake calipers and pads, front wheel bearings and seals, rear brake shoes and wheel cylinders, and brake master cylinder. The car was given a complete tuneup with a Pertronix Ignitor fitted. The heater core was replaced and all of the coolant hoses were renewed. A complete dual exhaust system was fitted. The battery was replaced along with valve cover gaskets and upper trailing arm bushings. The automatic transmission was flushed and serviced. This work was performed in April 2012 and receipts are present. There is also a folder of receipts from prior owners starting in 1976. The mileage trail on the invoices indicates that the mileage of 107,426 (assumed because of the 5-digit odometer) is correct. Cosmetically this car is a real time capsule. The paint appears to be totally original but I did respray sections of the rear fenders due to small blisters in the paint. Otherwise there is no evidence of accident damage or paint repairs. The car is 46 years old so there are small flaws like paint chips and a few very minor dings here or there. However, given its age, the overall appearance is really amazing. There are a couple of small dings in a few of the aluminum side moldings and the original bumpers have some very minor hazing but overall very nice. The interior is 100% original. There are no tears evident anywhere and the dash is uncracked. The black carpet has faded to a greyish-brown due to age but is in great condition otherwise. Headliner is in great shape. All glass is good except for one small chip on the windshield as pictured. There is some scratching and signs of use to the rear floor area and tailgate from years of hauling. No third row seat is fitted. Mechanically I would literally get in this car and head for New York without hesitation. The tires are almost 100%. The 429 engine pulls like a train, it shifts perfectly, and brakes and steering both function as well as they did in 1969 which means you sort of float down the road guiding the car along like a boat. It's a little hard to burn rubber because the Detroit Locker goes into action as soon as you floor it. Everything seems to work with the exception of the radio and the air conditioning. I was told that it needed a new AC compressor but never got around to that. This is a unique opportunity to acquire a big block Ford in almost totally original condition. You just have to ignore the jokes about somebody's Grandma having had one when they were a kid. I'll bet Grandma didn't have a 429... Please feel free to ask questions or to make a reasonable offer. Please visit this page to view more photos of the car.
