This 2003 Chevy Avalanche started out a 2WD, ½ ton, 5.3 gas engine and I drove it that way for 6 years. After purchasing a travel trailer, I came to realize that it wasn’t enough power for me. I loved the truck and did not want to sell it, so at that time I decided to make it more powerful. The Duramax idea snowballed into making it 4x4 and ¾ ton. I installed a 2004 LLY Duramax w/ Allison transmission all taken from a Chevy Crewcab 2500HD. The ECM was sent off and reprogrammed for fuel economy (gets 19mpg consistently). I installed dual electric radiator fans and designed my own automatic fan controller. The engine runs very cool, unloaded or loaded. The front differential was pulled from a 2005 Dodge 2500HD, it is a AAM 925 and I added the manual locking hubs. All OEM front coil spring brackets and suspension components came from the Dodge. The rear diff. is from the Chevy 2500HD and is a 14-bolt limited-slip Corporate (all brackets moved from the ½ ton diff. to the ¾ ton diff.) The rear suspension mechanism is primarily stock Avalanche 4-link with the exception of the auto air-ride system. I installed a custom onboard compressed air system to operate the air-ride and air horns (very loud). It consists of a Gast 1/3HP piston air compressor and 2-5 gallon air tanks. There is also an air quick-connect to run air tools. You can load this truck as much as you want and it will level itself automatically. Options on the truck include; PS, HydraBoost power 4-wheel disc brakes, Power Sunroof, Cruise, GM Pwr. Extending Tow Side Mirrors (painted to match), PW, PDL, Pwr. Pedal Position, Steering Wheel Controls, Tilt Wheel, Intermitting Wipers, Pwr. Leather Seats, Climate Control, Custom Overhead Gauges, Kenwood 7” touchscreen w/ SXM, iPod connect, B/U camera & DVD, factory Bose system w/ added amp & 10” subwoofer under rear seat. Roof rack rails have been chrome plated w/ end caps painted to match, roof spoiler added, Escalade painted bed cladding w/ oversized LED 3rd brake light, Escalade chrome door handles & tailgate handle (not cheap chrome stick-on), 20” chrome wheels w/ new Michelin 34” tires, new LED taillights, 2004 hood and grille, painted to match front bumper top cap, painted to match fender flares and Yukon side molding. This truck is extremely reliable and extremely POWERFUL. It will pull just about anything. It runs and drives perfectly. It has been garage kept all of it’s life and the original paint and interior is in excellent condition. It has no scratches or dents and has never been wrecked. Odometer is showing 174k, that is the correct mileage for the engine as the cluster came from the donor truck. The Avalanche itself only has around 70k miles.COMES WITH EFI LIVE INTERFACE CABLE AND PROGRAM !!!I am an extreme perfectionist, especially when I am building it to keep. This truck was put together RIGHT and is definitely a ”one of a kind”. You could take it to any mechanic, and I assure you, he will tell you “it looks like it came from the factory this way”. The only reason I’m selling it is, I’m reducing down to one vehicle so I’m selling everything except my new Jeep. You can purchase this vehicle at a reduced price on Craigslist Houston.

1951 Chevy 6100 Series (Deluxe Cab): Throughout its 100-year history, Chevrolet has created hundreds of different cars and trucks. Many have their passionate fans and collectors. Some stand out as iconic — personifying the spirit,  style and dependability that have defined Chevrolet. Chevy’s new Advance Design trucks for 1948-1955 were the first completely restyled General Motors vehicles introduced after World War II. From the start, people loved the new Chevy  pickups. (And they still do — the Advance Design generation trucks are cherished by collectors as classics today.) The new, roomier cabs for ’48 provided spacious three-across seating. The Chevy truck driveline, which had proved  itself in every possible way during the war, hadn’t needed — or received — much tweaking. Reliable and versatile, the Chevy half-ton pickup continued as the farmer’s and tradesman’s four-wheeled friend. For those that needed to tackle heavier-duty jobs than just "grocery grabbing," the same reliability was found in Chevy's commercial grade haulers such as the 2-Ton 6100 series. When traveling around the US doing classic car deals, we sometimes stumble on really exceptional vehicles and immediately decide we have to own them! So was the case with this beautifully restored Chevy 6100 Series that was found for sale in an Indiana museum. After a little research and negotiating, "Big Red" was on it's way to Texas. Further research upon arrival verified that this truck was once part of the late William "Bill" Kirby collection. Bill was a well-known and respected classic truck  restorer and collector who the Antique Truck community lost in 2013. Being a fellow classic truck enthusiast (especially Chevys!) I have a great appreciation of the craftsmanship that Bill put into this remarkable classic road tractor. Now  is the opportunity for a new owner to take the reigns as caretaker of this truck and put it to work or use it to draw crowds at car shows. Some of the features and options on this truck include; Thriftmaster Inline 6 Cyl, Manual Transmission (4 Spd main & 3 Spd auxiliary), Dual Rear Wheels, 2 Spd Rear End, Air Brakes, 5th Wheel Hitch, Dual Polished Tanks, Running Boards, Chrome Grill, Painted Front Bumper, Roof Running Lights, Amber Turn Signal/Marker Lights, Chrome Spot Light, Factory Heater, Fire Extinguisher, Flare Kit,  Grinnell Company Air Gauge, Fram Filter, Dual Horns, 20" Steel Wheels (5-lug front & 10-lug rear), and 9.00-20 Tires! Climb in, take a seat on the dark saddle leather bench, and enjoy the smooth ride of this unique vintage truck. Having seen  only 2,400 miles since restoration, this is an exceptional classic Chevy truck that can be purchased for only $24,988!  With the ""Buy it Now"" option you can own this beautiful 6100 now and receive FREE SHIPPING * to your driveway. Not only is shipping free but we will handle all of the shipping arrangements and provide  complete cargo insurance while in transit.
