This 1970 Chevrolet Nova SS delivers much more than you'd expect for its economy car price. The paint on this one is the kind that makes people look twice. It's close enough to appear like its factory Cranberry Red, but then the sunlight hits this metallic burgundy, and people instantly see the kind of luster that comes from a modern (and expensive) respray. Then again, the flames running down the fender and on the bulge in the hood are a dead giveaway that this Nova has been built in the great tradition of amping up the power in these lightweight X-bodies. But beyond just looking good, this one gets its fundamentals right - the doors fit well, the trunk closes without a big slam, and all the body lines are quite crisply rendered. It's a quality appearance that is enhanced by new brightwork on the trim, lower body moldings, and the bumpers. And for those who are really taking notice of the details, this Nova subtly stands out with a unique take on Chevy's Rally wheel package. The work on the interior has erased much of this Nova's economy car roots. The new high back bucket seats provide the kind of modern bolstering that gives you all-day comfort. In between them is a useful center console that even includes cup holders (a small item that we all wish were in our classic at one time or another.) There's even a substantial AM/FM/CD stereo system and provisions for air conditioning. But as much as this Nova has been upgraded for creature comforts, it's still a driver's machine at heart. You feel it the moment you slip behind the fat three-spoke sports steering wheel. Ahead of you there's a nice set of Dolphin gauges giving you all the pertinent info. Mounted on the column is a big Sun Pro tach in case you want to do your own shifting with that T-bar Hurst performance shifter. Under the hood is Chevy's trusty small-block V8 with plenty of new hoses and wires to let you know there's a lot of business going on in there. But once you dig a little deeper, you see all the components that can really get you excited. This includes performance items like the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock performance intake, and M/T valve covers. This feeds long-tube ceramic headers that connect to a stainless steel dual exhaust with performance H-pipe construction. So it doesn't take much imagination to understand that this Nova has a serious bark and the bite to back it up. In fact, you really should take a look at the undercarriage photos to appreciate how much work has gone into this classic Chevy even on the places that anyone rarely sees. Still, we wouldn't blame you if all you wanted to do was use this budget-friendly Nova for Saturday night cruising. In fact, it already has that kind of task well in had with features like the four-speed automatic transmission and power steering. Somebody sank a lot of money into this car and it shows. Detailing is very good, and the overall finish will attract a lot of attention at shows and on the street. If you're quick enough, you can reap all these rewards while saving thousands $$$. EXTERIOR COLOR: ODOMETER READING: 30893 INTERIOR COLOR : VEHICLE FEATURES & OPTIONS Defrost, AM/FM Radio, Cassette Player, Air Conditioning, Heat, Tilt Wheel, Vinyl Interior, Front Disc Brakes, Power Steering SELLER REMARKS The Nova is an amazing car that was born into economy intentions, but the small-block Chevy V8 catapulted it into iconic American muscle status. This 1969 Chevrolet Nova coupe is the perfect example of that - a beautiful body with a custom build that makes it irresistible. This Nova left the Willow Run, Michigan plant over 45 years ago wearing a more sedate hue of white. But once it came time to restore and transform this into a true American muscle machine they went with the ultra wild Hugger Orange. This iconic Chevy color is the perfect way to showcase how smooth the body is on this fastback coupe. In fact, the paint is so bright, it rivals the chrome for its shine. That's a tough thing to do on these Novas with the brightwork on the wide bumpers, lower rocker panels, and window trim. But there's more to this car than just a shine. As a Super Sport build, there are also some nice dark elements to highlight this coupe's shadowy side. You see it in places like the grille's black background and the vents on the cowl induction hood. But the biggest standout contrast has to be the side striping. It's a custom piece that gets attention because it did not come on the factory SS cars but it looks great and makes this Nova one-of-a-kind. Black vinyl is exactly what you want for a muscle car interior, and this one has made sure it stays deep and dark with the bench seats and door panels looking fresh from a restoration. Just like the exterior, this car has been thoroughly upgraded with convenient features like an Alpine AM/FM/cassette stereo that's adaptable to your modern tunes and an air conditioner that has been converted to R134a for easier servicing. But what you really want in a wild Nova are driver features, and this one has it. Your left hand rests on the power steering wheel, and your right one will remain firmly planted on the performance sifter. There's also a set of auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and battery. So now you can keep an eye on what's going on under the hood. One look at the engine bay, and you know this is one wicked small-block. This 350 cubic-inch V8 has been upgraded with features like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Victor Jr intake, MSD ignition, and Chevy racing valve covers. But possibly more importantly, the engine bay quite neat and tidy. It looks great at the car shows with its new belts and hoses, and quite frankly, it's a sign that the previous caretakers have cherished this car. As expected from a performance build like this, the dual exhaust has an intimidating rumble. But this one can back it up on the streets, too, with features like its four-speed manual transmission and Torqu Thrust wheels (17inch front, 18 rear) that can carry the wider and grippy low profile tires. And when it comes time to stop, you'll be happy to have the front disc brakes. This Nova is a fantastic runner, offers nice upgrades, and has an unbeatable appearance. We challenge you to find a more alluring muscle car for the money! 1969 Chevrolet Nova for Sale 1969 Chevrolet Nova for Sale Stock # 0004-TPA Charlotte Showroom 5400 West WT Harris Blvd Charlotte, NC 28269 Local/International: (704) 598-2130 Toll-Free: (866) 542-8392 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Atlanta Showroom 213 Thornton Rd Lithia Springs, GA 30122 Local/International: (678) 279-1609 Toll-Free: (877) 367-1835 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM EST Sat: 9AM - 5PM EST Email: [email protected] Dallas/Fort Worth Showroom 5400 Sandshell Dr Fort Worth, TX 76137 Local/International: (817) 764-8000 Toll-Free: (855) 877-2707 Hours: Tues - Fri: 9AM - 6PM CST Sat: 9AM - 5PM CST Email: [email protected] TERMS OF SALE 1.
