THIS IS AN EXTREMELY CLEAN UNRESTORED 1984 MONTE CARLO SS. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN CLEVELAND TENNESSEE FROM HALL CHEVROLET IN MAY 3, 1984. THE CAR WAS OWNED BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER FROM PURCHASE IN 1984 UNTIL 2012 WHICH IS WHEN HE SOLD THE CAR JUST PRIOR TO HIS DEATH. THE CAR WAS GARAGE KEPT AND NOT DRIVEN IN THE RAIN. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL WINDOW STICKER, ORIGINAL INVOICE, A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL TITLE, ORIGINAL OWNERS MANUAL, ORIGINAL WARRANTY BOOKS, AND OTHER ORIGINAL BOOKS GIVEN THE OWNER AT PURCHASE. IN ADDITION I HAVE COPIES OF THE SUBSEQUENT TITLES. THERE HAVE BEEN 2 OTHER OWNERS, BOTH OF WHICH ARE CAR GUYS, AND MAINTAINED THE CAR JUST AS THE ORIGINAL OWNER DID BEING GARAGE KEPT AND NOT DRIVEN IN THE RAIN. THE FIRST PURCHASED THE CAR IN JULY OF 2012 AND SOLD TO THE SECOND IN DECEMBER OF 2013. AGAIN, BOTH GUYS WERE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH THE CAR BOTH LIVING WITHIN 30 MILES OF ME AND THE ORIGINAL OWNER. WHEN I PURSHASED THIS CAR IT WAS BEING AQUIRED FOR A GOOD FRIEND WHO WAS SICK WITH CANCER. HE HAD WANTED THIS CAR SINCE SOLD THE FIRST TIME, BUT MISSED IT BACK IN 2012. HE KEPT TRACK OF THE CAR BUT WHEN IT CAME AVAILABLE AGAIN, HIS SICKNESS DETERED HIM WITH HIS UNKNOWN PROGNOSIS. I BOUGHT THE CAR, AND MOVED IT THE 5 MILES TO MY HOME AND PLACED IT IN MY SHOP WHICH IS BASICALLY CLIMATE CONTROLLED AND PUT THE COVER ON. IT HAS NOT BEEN OUT SINCE THAT DAY. MY FRIEND PASSED AWAY, SO AT THIS POINT I HAVE DECIDED TO SELL THE CAR AS I HAVE 2 OTHER CLASSIC CARS, ONE OF WHICH HE BUILT, AND THE OTHER I BUILT. I HAVE PLACED PICTURES ON THE ADD, BUT IF YOU NEED ADDITONAL PICS I CAN GET THEM FOR YOU. THIS SS MONTE CARLO IS AS NEAR NEW AS IT GETS. AS YOU CAN SEE, THE ODOMETER SHOWA 26,656 WHICH IS ONLY 446 MILES SINCE THE ORIGINAL OWNER SOLD THE CAR IN 2012. COME TAKE A LOOK OR SEND YOUR INSPECTOR IN TO INSPECT FOR YOU. NO SURPRISES HERE.

1972 Monte Carlo Coupe / Street - Strip Please read this listing carefully, I am attempting to make this as clear as possible to avoid any potential confusion. I will first list what comes with the car, then what it still needs to be completed. This is a running driving car, it is 100% legal in TN on the street. Your local area may have differing laws that would not allow this car to be driven on the street with out additional work being done to it. Because this is such a involved project I am going to break this up into following sections Engine, Transmission, Suspension, Interior, Exterior, and then explain what the car still needs to be 100% completed. I've included a FAQ's as well. If you have additional questions - ASK. I will answer them as soon as I can. I have literally over 200 pictures Including machine work on the engine build that document the work that has been done on this car. Please ask, I will be more than happy to send them to you. I am a serious car guy, I love the old A bodies from GM and I also like the resto-mod community. I know what this car has and what it took to put it together, don't bid if you are not serious please. I don't have time to waste on tire kickers and dreamers with lint in their wallets. I will NOT provide financing so please don't ask. Now that that is out of the way, let's get started. This car is equipped with the following : Engine: 496 Cubic Inch Big Block Chevrolet Stroker - 8.1L V8 A 454 Engine was in car when I bought it, according to the previous owner it came out of a 1978 Truck, and was put into the car after a small engine fire ruined the original 350 Small block. That meshes with - this car's VIN indicates that it was built in Baltimore MD with a 350 CID engine. The 454 Engine was removed, disassembled. hot tanked, magna-fluxed and bored 60 over in 2010 as part of the build. It has only been run about 12-15 hours since then, for a total of 150 miles. The Block is a 2 bolt main, it has a forged crank, 4.25 inch rods and speed pro 11.5:1 pistons. The Oil pan is an 8 quart Miloden with stoker kicks outs. The Crank and rods were purchased as a stroker kit for this build, they are Eagle Forged type components. Pistons are Speed Pro Hyper, new plasma moly rings were used. The heads are GM Service replacement LS6 BBC heads, Casting number 6272990 which were purchased new in the box as NOS parts. These rectangular port open chamber 118 CC heads have 325CC runners on them, 2.19 Intake and 1.88 Exhaust Manley Severe duty stainless valves. These heads were given a three angle valve job, ported and polished and gasket matched to the intake manifold. The valve springs are also Manely severe duty. Rocker Arms are Lunati Roller tips. They have been aligned honed and decked - final compression ratio for the Engine is 11.5:1. It requires 93 Octane. Fuel delivery is handled via an Aeromotive Electric Fuel pump mounted in the rear of the car, the stock mechanical fuel pump boss has a plate on it. The fuel pump will handle an FI system should that be something you would later want to convert the car to - the care also has a Ricks Hot Rods Stainless Steel 21 Gallon tank with sump for this purpose. It is currently equipped with a new Holley Dominator 1050 CFM Carb And Aermotive Fuel Log with pressure gauge. (See enclosed pictures) It has all braided stainless steel lines front to back. The Intake Manifold is a Weiand Stealth Model Dual plane selected for street use, a tunnel ram or single plane manifold would make this a mostly strip car. The cam is a Lunati 'Vodoo" flat tappet, hydraulic lifter style. It's specs are as follows: Advertised Duration (Int/Exh): 276/284Duration @ .050 (Int/Exh): 233/241Gross Valve Lift (Int/Exh): .554/.572LSA/ICL: 110/106Valve Lash (Int/Exh): Hyd/HydRPM Range: 2200-6400 When the engine was built, as it was going to be primary a heavy street car, the package was put together with the Lunati specs in mind. The Engine pulls well off idle and very hard past 2500 RPM. The Cam I selected was based somewhat on the Hilly Terrain in Eastern TN, I wanted to avoid any brake vacuum issues, and thus this cam was opted for rather than the more radical offerings from Lunati. This cam is one of the "Voodoo" line up from Lunati - it is two steps down from the most radical cam they make. It still has a very noticeable lope to it, but it also makes good vacuum. Ignition is controlled by a MSD- AL-2 ignition box controller mounted under the dash, MSD Coils and a MSD Billet distributor send the spark to the plugs. Engine cooling is provided by an Alumi-Tech Four core Aluminum radiator equipped with dual fans rated at 5500 CFM. A Meizier Industries Electric Water 250 gph pump circulates the coolant. The pump is controlled by a toggle switch mounted in the center console. Exhaust system is comprised of Hooker Super Comp Ceramic coated long tube headers with 3.5 Inch Collectors. The Intermediate pipes are 2.5 inch ID from Pypes Exhaust with Twin Dual Chamber turbo style mufflers from Walker. This is somewhat a restrictive exhaust system, but the single chamber race mufflers I had on originally were simply too much. I was planning on putting in electric cut outs for track use at some point. This system was just installed in Dec 2014. The entire engine was built with a target HP of 550 HP, the builders in KY that did the engine say it should be closer to 590 - 600, and might be a notch over. They have been in the business since the late 60's I konw they know what they are talking about. I am estimating this car on drag slicks will pull a mid 11 second quarter mile. The starter is a mini style high torque model form Summit. It works flawlessly and has never lagged or shown heat soak issues. Transmission: We tore down the originally equipped TH350 that was in the car, and found it was in pretty good shape still. I opted rather than try to find another transmission to just rebuild the one I had. I was disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt using a reverse TCI Manual Valve body and all Heavy Duty TCI internals. NO automatic feature remain on this transmission, it MUST be shifted in and out of each gear. The shift pattern is reversed meaning instead of P-N-R 3-3-2-1 It is now P-N-R-1-2-3. The floor shifter is a B&M Ratchet style and has the correct lens for the reverse manual. The Stock stall convertor was replaced with a TCI 2800-3000 RPM flash convertor. Driving the car - It seems to flash right at 3000 RPM. It has never been re-flashed. The transmission pan is a Finned aluminum deep style pan from TCI. Suspension Front / Rear : Front Suspension retains no Original GM's parts. Everything has been replaced with aftermarket parts from SC&C, Hotchkis, and Unisteer. The original steering gear has been replaced with a Uni-Steer Rack and pinion with hydraulic power assist. (See Pictures) Upper and lower control arms, ball joints, and spindles were purchased as a package and are from SC&C as are the 2 inch drop springs. The car's suspension height can be adjusted from Stock to -4 inches total via shims in the lower control arm spring perches. I tired it with the 4 inch drop and found myself scraping the headers, I put the shims in and now I have it at the stock ride height currently. Front brakes are Twin Piston Calipers / Disc power from Right Stuff Detailing, The Master Cylinder and booster were replaced as were all brake lines as a package from Right Stuff Detailing. They stop this 4000+ lb car very well. This car handles on par with a newer car. It is very tight and firm through the corners. There is almost no body roll as was common with A body cars in the early 70's. Rear Suspension, like the front no GM OEM equipment remains with the exception of the 12 bolt axle housing. It was completely overhauled using BMR components. It has boxed lower control arms, new panhard braces and a "Extereme" duty rear sway bar, the sway bar is shackled to the rear end tubes to avoid wheel hop and body roll. Rear Springs were also replaced with a 1 inch drop spring from BMR. The shocks are KYB's and have about 200 miles on them. Braking is as with the front with twin piston calibers and discs from Right Stuff Detailing. The rear end assembly is a GM 12 bolt with an aftermarket Eaton Pos-traction unit, and 3.73: Ring and pinion gear from Richmond Gear. Axles are new and from Moser heavy duty with 26 spline. The rear end assembly was stripped, hot tanked and completely rebuilt. The Differential cover is also a Moser unit with the saddle type mounting. (See Pictures) Interior - Seats, Dash, and Electronics: The Interior of this car originally came from the factory with two couches. That's a weak joke. It had the standard bench front and typical rear seat in the back. The front seat was removed, a set of 1971 Chevelle Buckets were located and then completely stripped and re-done with new foam, springs, hog rings, and covers, the seat frames were sand blasted and then painted. The upholstery shop added some small custom made skirts at the bottom of these seats for me, which serves to hide the seat tracks and makes the whole package look a little better. The new covers foam and hardware were purchased via OPGI. The back seat has little wear, I didn't bother to recover it however it was removed for the carpeting to be installed. I retained the black color the car originally came with. A center console, again from a Chevelle was purchased and installed, it has been modified to accept the B&M ratchet shifter. The Console box also hides the various switches that control the fuel pump, fans, and electric water pump. The console is accented with the brushed metal insert vs the burl walnut grain vinyl a Monte Carlo originally came with. The car was originally equipped with the Four Season AC - Heat from the factory, but retains no A/C or cabin heat currently. The dash lower assembly is brand new, as is the dash pad. This dash is set up for the original A/C -Heat equipment or an aftermarket unit should you want to do that in the future. I have the door, lock cylinder, and hardware to complete the glove box. It will come with the car. The cars entire electrical system is new. A new Painless wiring harness replaced both Engine and chassis wiring harnesses. It is equipped with a new fuse box that was included in the wiring kit, and uses the more modern blade style fuses vs the older round ones. The car will come with an Alpine AM/FM.CD/BT/SAT Stereo - Two front component speakers, and two rear 6x9 three way speakers for the rear deck. A 400 Watt 4 channel amplifier is included as well. The Alpine head unit was installed in December, but is not yet wired, two new kick panels that hold the front speakers are installed, but not yet wired. The amp is new from Crutchfield and still in it's original box un-opened I have a complete 8 point roll cage from Chris Alliston Chassis Works out of CA with clevite style removable side bars that will go with the car - I haven't had time to get it installed yet. It also includes a set of 5 point harnesses, brand new in the box. When the car's interior was stripped I over looked doing the installation of insulation under the carpet. I have since purchased Dynamat Kits to do this when the cage goes in. They will come with the car. The floor pans however were blasted and repainted. The arm rest pad for the front come new with the car still in boxes, I haven't put them in yet. A new Rearview mirror is new in the box and comes with the car, again I haven't took time to put them in. The Dash gauges are all Auto-Meter Sport Comps. The Speed, Water, Amps, and Temp guages all work as they should. I have found an issue with the Fuel gauge, it is working but not reading correctly - I've isolated this to the sending unit in the tank. It seems to be hung up but I have not yet dropped the tank and pull it. The carpet is new from OPGI. The dash insert is made of billet aluminum and has a satin finish. It was custom built by a place called RT-66 Motor sports especially for the early 70's Chevelles and Monte Carlos with SS gauges. The battery is a AC-Delco 750 CCA - mounted in the trunk on the passenger side. All Battery cables have been replaced and are like new. The original Steering column was replaced with one for a floor shift model Chevrolet. It has the tilt feature. Exterior This car has spent it's entire life in Northern GA where it was originally purchased, and NE TN, I am the 3rd Owner. I purchased the car in 2007 in Chattanooga. To the best of my knowledge this car has been in TN/GA area it's entire life, and never seen salt as would one from the northern areas of the country. The floor pans were in perfect condition and are original, as is the trunk pan. The under side of the car was sand blasted and repainted as part of the tear down. The front clip was completely removed and frame rails painted, the front fenders have been replaced, and I have the old ones that will go with the car, one is damaged and has a dent in it from a vehicle backing into it at low speed, the dent is minor, and can be pulled and refurbished. The doors are original from the factory, but have no rust or other issues. The rear bumper was replaced, and shines like a new OEM one, not pits or rust on it at all. The front bumper was removed, and at some point damaged, I've still got the original bumper, but it would be better to replace it, I have the valance, brackets and new bolts for this and those come with the car. The front grill is a swap meet item - the SS emblem was on there, and I never replaced it, it shows some minor pitting and may be something that should if the car is going to be shown be redon and a new "Knight" emblem installed. The hood is from Glass-Tek and was purchased new. It has a 4 inch cowl, and I've installed billet aluminum hood locks on it. (See pictures) I have the original hood that can go with the car if you want it. The paint is a single stage hot rod matte black paint. I've got about 30% of it wet sanded at this time, but haven't done the whole car. It will need wet sanding finished. Wheels are Center-Line Tele-stars 15x 8 and almost brand new, they have less than 150 miles on them. I have Center caps to match them, which will come with the car. All tail lights, turn signals, headlights and side marker lights work. The headlights are aftermarket HID style units. What the car needs to be 100% You might have noticed there as some things the car needs such as bumpers, wet sanding etc. This is because my current job takes me out of the US for months at a time, I'm home for 3 -4 weeks and gone again. I simply have not had the time to devote to this car since it came out of the shop in 2014 and went back on the street. Having said that, I really regret having the car sit like this, It's been a fun project but the car itself deserves the care and effort that it should get, and rather than let it sit, I've decided to let someone else enjoy it. This car was almost 7 years in the building - it just came out of the shop in May of 2014. Total cost to do this car has been north of 30K not including labor. This was not and is not a back yard project. Every thing done to this car was done by professionals. I have a website devoted to the car, due to E-bay rules I cannot list it here - Use the contact buyer to get the links to the site and videos I have of the car. It needs: Stereo speakers, Head Unit and Amp wired Side View Mirror Interior work - Roll Cage and harness, Insualtion, minor items like arm rest pads, rear view mirror. Wet sanding Windlace trim on front and back windows. Front Bumper installed Fuel tank sending unit - repaired or replaced. Trunk latch assembly installed - I have the parts they will come included with the car. Emergency Kill Switch for trunk mounted battery (required on most strips if you are going to race the car). Drag style DOT radials. The current tires are just plain run of the mill Firestone street radial tires that I bought new and put on the car when I first got it. They are not designed for and simply can't keep up with the output of this 496. It simply blows them up in a cloud of smoke - impressive ....but the car's not going anywhere. A downshift from 3rd to 2nd and a stab on the go fast pedal results in the same thing. At 50MPH. It simply goes nuts. GET BETTER TIRES. All the above is I'm guessing for the right person with the correct shop set up probably about 2 weekends worth of work, assuming you can weld. FAQ's Q. Is the car street legal? A. In TN is is, if you are from the NE or West coast United States like MA, ME, NY, RI, CA, OR - I don't know, I know there are emissions checks in those areas, and the 496 *might* not make it past those sorts of things with out some work like installing Cats or a smaller CFM carb. Do your homework on the legal aspects of the state you live in before bidding. Having said that, this car is pretty much right on that edge where it's too much for a street car. Change out the rear gear, put in a single plane intake and it'll more or less be over that edge. Q. How much gas does it use? A. A lot. If your worried about gas mileage, buy a Toyota, this car kills baby bunnies, flowers and trees. I routinely feed it dead baby Unicorns. J/K It gets on average, about 4 miles to a gallon of 93 octane gas. Q. Is it registered? A. Yes, I have a current plate, tags, and clear TN Title to the car. It has never seen a salvage title or other problems with registration. I traced the VIN back to the original owner of the car who purchased it in Northern GA. Q. Is it fast? A. Yes. For a 4200 lb car - it is a very fast street car. I do not have a time slip for an actual run, but I estimate the car is capable on the right tires of mid 11 second quarter mile times. Q. I am thinking about buying this car for my kid - should I? A. In my opinion - no. If your kid is responsible and mature enough for something of this nature, and has already been around these sorts of cars, then maybe. Having said that, This is not a car for a young and inexperienced driver it can "get away" from them very quickly without the proper driving skills. Period. Q. Will the 496 Accept Nitrous? A. Yes. *BUT* I don't trust N0x on a 2 bolt main, I know a lot of guys that run it on their 2 bolts and they say I'm being paranoid. There's 6000.00+ dollars in Engine sitting in this car, and although this one is built with forged bottom end and all ARP fasteners / components it is still a 2 bolt main. If you plan on adding N0x to the car, I'd strongly recommend limiting it to a 50 HP shot. This is MY personal opinion on running Nitrous. Q. How many miles are actually on the car total? A. About 100,000 It was just south of 99,900 miles when I shut it down for the rebuild. As mentioned before since then it's only seen about 150 miles of road. So add the two and you come up with 100,050 miles total since the car rolled out of the factory. The Auto-meter Speedometer shows 150 miles on it. This will be reflected on the title when I sell the car as "Unknown" since the OEM equipment has since been replaced. Q. Will you ship the car? A. Of course. I'm very familiar with shipping cars, and have done numerous deals with U-ship and I have a local U-ship verified contact in TN I can put you in touch with. If purchased for the full "Buy It now" price of 14,000.00 dollars I will provide 250.00 back to you for help for shipping of the car. From my experience generally you can expect to spend 100 bucks per 100 miles. IOW a 500 mile haul via a shipping company will run you about 500 - 550.00. That's in the Lower 48. I have never attempted to ship overseas, or to AK or HI. Q. Is there any body filler in the car. A. Yes. As common with these cars - the area under the rear window was showing signs of corrosion. It actually still had the skim coat of filler that was sometimes used at the factory. This was removed, primered and redone. Additionally there were bubbles forming under the lower edges of the Vinyl roof, I stripped the vinyl off, removed it's mounting points and re-surfaced it all. There was minor paint bubbling on both rear wheel wells, this has been addressed and fixed as well. Q. Have any of the body panels, floor, trunk etc been patched? A. No. The floors were in perfect shape, however they were sanded primered and painted, as was the underside of the car. I replaced both front fenders, with ones in very good condition, they were stripped primed and repainted. The trunk pan was OEM spatter painted. I don''t care much for how it turned out, and was considering using a truck bed spray on liner for looks. Q. What if I don't like the car - can I return it? A. I will give a 7 day money back guarantee on the car from the day it arrives at your location. Provided - the following terms are met - all payments have completely cleared, and YOU pay for the return Shipping. I will NOT return the purchase price of the car until it is back in my possession. Sorry. I am not a big car store here, I can't afford to cover your shipping the car back to me. I am selling the car to you as is with NO warranty what so ever. But I do understand sometimes people don't always make the right choices in life for their situations. I understand this, and will work with you should that occur. This is why I have done all this writing so that you the buyer understand what it is I am selling and hopefully avoid any confusion or disappointments when the car gets to you. I reserve the right to cancel this E-bay sale at anytime and without notice - this car is advertised for sale in my local area. I hope I've provided all the information you need in this add, as I said, if there are questions - ask. I will respond to each as it comes in, as fast as possible. Thanks for looking.

Sweet 1981 Monte Carlo cloned to 1987 SS model. Owner took about four years to build from the ground up. Quality work. Looks a beautiful, and runs fast! Always garage kept, and treated like a baby. Currently does not have air on it, but I have everything needed to put it on. No disappointments here. The car doesn't need anything. Payment due at auctions end. Cash or certified funds. Buyer must arrange for transport if needed or may be picked up in Morristown, Tennessee.
