This is a very solid 1970 Mercedes 280s . The car runs but new owner will need to buy and have the transmission installed. The car is a excellent candidate for a total restoration or drive it as is after you install the transmission. The engine runs fine except for slight flutter in one carb. This car is being offered with no transmission, but you can find the w108 Transmission on ebay for $350 with a 90 day warranty. Brian #9562033258

This Mercedes Benz 240d is in very good condition for its age, drives and steers great, original paint looks great, has rock chips and dings but from 5' away the car can look flawless(see pics).Dash is in great condition has slight crack and one other small imperfections, shows some age(see pics). The luxury 240d will still turn heads everywhere it goes. first owner took Immaculate records from 1976 to 1997 where it racked up the vast majority if its low original miles just 89k, car comes with a very thick binder of maintenance during that time also with many manuals and booklets. Turn up the radio, blast the AC and cruise the town, even invite friends the 240d seats 5. Its leather interior shows some age but still can impress(see pics). Don't miss out on this amazing 1976 240d! buyer is responsible for pick up or shipping

I am selling my 1973 Mercedes 220. I have to many toys and some have to go. I hate to see it and not get used. It is in very good condition. I bought 2 Mercedes from my neighbor and listed one a few months ago on eBay. As you can see the buyer was very happy with the car. I was planning on keeping this one, but since I bought it, it has just been sitting. With winter coming it doesn't make sense to let it sit around. The interior is like new. The exterior is also in very good condition. It appears to have been redone. The lower molding on the driver side was in the car when I got it and can easily be put back on. The car drives down the road very nicely and everything seems to be in working order. There is no rust on the exterior of the car at all. The undercarriage is extremely clean. I tried to take a few pictures.the truck has a small sot on rust from the trunk mat getting wet and never being able to dry out, very minor. Please give me a call if you would like to come and see it or take it for a drive. The transfer will be made with a Connecticut Bill of sale. Ct does not issues titles for cars of this age. The car was last registered in Ct. Please give me a call with any questions. 203-704-1159

Selling this 1970 Mercedes Benz 280 SEL-ClassFrom 2nd OWNER in excellent condition! This 280SEL W108 is a luxury sedan with a desirable longer body which was built only with 8,250 units by Mercedes-Benz from 1968 through 1971. The line was an update of the predecessor W111 and W112 fintails sedans. The performance and technology on these cars improved and had many refinements to make them some of the most well equipped cars of the era.On the 280SEL the inline 6-cylinder fuel-injected 2.8L engine produced 160 hp (120 kW) and could push the car to 120 mph. Condition and HistoryThis Mercedes Benz with its attractive color combination was driven for his whole life in the State of Hawaii until it was shipped 3 weeks ago to California where it is now here on eBay for sale. In the last 8 years there has been spent over $18,000.00 (all documented) on repairs and maintenance on this vehicle to keep its condition up to date. The working odometer reads 71,085 miles and is believed to be original due the history of all the receipts. The black LEATHER interior is believed to be original and in great condition with no rips or tears! The front seats feature each individual arm-rest to ensure ultimate S-Class driving experience. There are no cracks or rips on the dashboard. The original WORKING radio and manual come with the car.All the instruments and lights are working properly in the dash. The body is extremely re-presentable, uncut and solid. The inside of the trunk area under the original cracked rubber mat is no rust. The paint is not original and has been repainted about 10 years agoin this elegant dark green metallic color. Except one miner paint imperfection (see picture) and the usual few little touched up ships on the door corner you can clearly see this paint-job was done with high quality standards and is really in extremely great presentable condition with no faded sun spots or cracks. The chrome is overall in really great condition as well. All the different buttons on the A/C work, blowing air strong, just needs to be refiled to blow cold. The motor runs strong and starts right up. Compression test has been successfully preformed. The gearbox is smooth and changes up when it's supposed to.The brakes work all simultaneously and the car doesn't swim on the road.Differential is still tight as the overall driving experience with this Mercedes. Power steering works flawlessly as all the 4 power windows. The updated overhauled, not affected by temperature or altitude, fuel-injector pump works fine with no fuel leaks. Suspensions and four new tires were changed on the vehicle not to long ago. This 1982 Mercedes Benz 240D drives very well and is in immaculate condition, inside and out. It is a two owner car that has been garaged its entire life and has been continuously maintained at Mercedes dealerships. The current owner has owned this beauty for 28 years and has used it mostly to commute on weekends to and from a resort community. Paint on the car is the original color which was redone several years ago and looks great and shows very well. All the doors open and close properly and they all have that pleasing Mercedes door-closing sound. The tires are nearly new Michelins with plenty of tread left on them. The brakes have been recently redone and provide for sure and safe stopping. The car drives smoothly and straight and has recently had the front end aligned and inspected. The transmission shifts smoothly with no unusual noises or vibrations. This car has always been properly and expertly maintained. The owner has always had the MB dealer change engine oil every 3000 miles and adjust the valves every 10000 miles and the engine starts easily and runs perfectly. Although the car has 250000 miles on it, this Benz has plenty of worry free miles left and, in fact, well maintained 240D cars routinely last over 500000 miles. The interior of the car has also been well maintained. The dash has no cracks, all the electrical equipment works properly and all the upholstery is in great condition. The car has a working electric sunroof. The only flaw in this immaculate car is a slight rust hole in the spare tire well in the trunk. There is no other rust on the car. This Mercedes is being sold because the current owner has purchased a new Mercedes SUV and has reluctantly decided to sell this car. Any new owner of this car can be assured of purchasing a well maintained Mercedes which looks and drives great!

Mercedes Refurbishes Dream-MADISON, CT Calling all Mercedes car buffs! This vehicle is a Mercedes refurbishers dream! My father who was a nuclear engineer at Millstone nuclear power plant for 25 years, just loved to tinker with cars! Unfortunately he is with us no longer, but his legacy will live on if you would like to breathe new life into this vehicle! If you love to take on mechanical projects with great persistence, then this car is for you! I would love to see videos of this car as one of the classic icons on display perhaps at a Veterans Parade or Memorial Event. It has 227,602 miles on it, with a classic 4 door design. Please call 954.255.1767 to schedule an appointment for viewing. We are throwing in a an additional 1977 240 D engine as part of the purchase price. The engine that is currently in the car has "a little something wrong with it." Unfortunately he is not with us anymore to consult! Both engines in theory could be scrapped as parts OR the 2nd engine potentially could be a "donor" for the 1st engine . I would recommend this vehicle to a Mercedes car aficionado, who loves to tinker just as dad did! What tremendous satisfaction could be reaped if you could get this car running again! My mom will also add in for the $2000 price to brand-new looking front seats that are matching! Again, what satisfaction to be reaped ! Once purchased, the vehicle's price does not include shipping. Upon seeing it make us a competitive offer!

Every car deserves a name. We named our Mercedes – The Colonel. So what's with The Colonel you ask? Well, we love cars with stories. Originally, a US Army Colonel stationed in Brussels purchased the 230S. It is a European specification model with those gorgeous headlamps. He was transferred to Puerto Rico briefly and shipped the Mercedes with him. From there, it went to Seattle. It stayed in the family until 3 years ago when a M-B fan purchased him with the intention of making it his wife’s daily driver. Most of that story turned out to be bunk. The real story is even better. Mr. Stanley S. was an accountant and was in fact transferred to Brussels. He decided to marry his love, Maria Mercedes R. and honeymoon in Belgium. He surprised her with the gift of this Mercedes-Benz. They did move to Mercedes’s home in Puerto Rico and did take the Mercedes with them. She loved that car and forced Stanley to spend an inordinate amount of money keeping it in good condition. We found it on eBay and unfortunately the Mercedes she treasured until 1999 fell into disrepair. It arrived and actually looked pretty good, was solid as a rock but was undriveable. That signaled the beginning of a systematic rebuild/refresh to make it a reliable and competitive vintage rally car. First things first – get the fuel delivery system clean. The gas tank had to be removed, boiled and re-lined and the entire fuel system cleaned. We added an electronic ignition, all new filters, then a complete fluid/lubrication refresh to benchmark it. The front-end was totally rebuilt and new sub-frame mounts installed. We installed Konis at each corner and set them on firm. All of the brakes replaced including the power brake booster. The exhaust has been modified to save weight and sound cool. A classic Cherry Bomb muffler did the trick. There was a nasty miss at low rpm under load so we installed a Weber Carb kit. We decided to install a fully electronic distributor from 123 Ignition. We added an auxiliary cooling fan after getting stuck in Lime Rock Race Track traffic on a 90-degree day. You can't find decent 13" tires anymore so we upgraded to 14". Luckily we found a local M-B dismantler who had a rare set of aluminum rims that weigh less than half of the steelies and look pretty much the same. We'll be running without wheel covers so they were stripped and painted satin black. After some serious research, we decided to go with Michelin Defenders. Turned out to be a good choice. When all this busy stuff was completed and tested, we moved to the shop run by well-known race car mechanic, John Rogers (now retired). He offered his expertise and his shop to assist in fabricating brackets for rally lights, a new dash panel for switches. We had been collecting vintage parts from around the globe while the first part of the build was underway: Our Cibie Super Oscars are from the UK, the Marchal center light from Germany, well you get the picture. Almost everything we added was period correct. We did add a new tach, an outside temp gauge (to warn us of ice), Butler Maplight and a bunch of USB and Aux power outlets. All of the exterior bulbs were sourced through Daniel Stern Lighting who knows a light bulb isn’t just a light bulb. The final accessory - a Brantz analog rally tripmeter. While we were in the interior, we restored the Becker Grand Prix to working condition (added iPod adapter), added Sirius Satellite radio, repaired the clock (it should work) and refinished the wood dashboard. We even found a NOS dome light to replace the broken one.We were all done a week before The Greenwich Concours. We had no expectation when we submitted the Mercedes to the Greenwich folks but it looked so darn cool, they couldn’t resist. We participated in more rallies and concours and always received a great response. In fact, Hemmings Sports & Exotics decided to do a story on it.         The license plate we run on the front is a copy of the Belgian plate that was originally on the car when it was delivered to Mr. & Mrs. Swanson. We still have the registration so the number is correct. Very cool. We have a fat envelope of receipts from the original owners. Most of our replacement parts came from the Mercedes Benz Classic Center. Expensive but worth it. This was not an inexpensive build with our invoices totally well over $15,000 not including the cost of the 230S. Every car needs a cup holder or two and a place to rest the iPhone when not in use. We had ours made by a friend and it works perfectly. Since the build, we were surprised at how popular The Colonel became. Invitations from The 100 Cars of the Radnor Hunt to the prestigious Carmel by the Sea show (during Monterey week) came in. We’ve participated in annual VSCCA Rallies and a few others, never reaching our objective to compete in an Adventure or Endurance Rally like The Tiger Rally or the South American Challenge. We are confident that with a little bit more effort, like adding skid plates and redundant fuel pumps, The Colonel has the chops to start and finish any event he puts his mind too. Here is our collection of historic photos that we used to help us build a true tribute to the great rally cars in Mercedes-Benz history. Call Michael Maddalena if you would like to discuss our Mercedes-Benz Rally Tribute 203-917-2354.

Up for sale a very nice 1974 Mercedes 240D, 4 speed manual - low mileage car. Highly desirable white over tobacco brown color combination - would make a great economical daily driver or full restoration project for a collector.I bought this car locally here in the northwest thru ebay, sight unseen- intending it to be a quick flip and make a buck and although it was very clean and presentable, it needed a some attention which was surprise given what I had paid for it and how it was represented. I was not looking for a project when I purchased it, which created some friction with the family over all the time and money spent making it better so now that the bulk of the work is done and I can sell it feeling better about its condition, it is time to part with it. Most everything I am aware that needed attention has been addressed - especially the majors and there isn't much left to do but I need to sell it and clear out the garage and not have the constant reminder of my best laid plans gone awry...so my loss is your gain. This car runs and drives, starts and stops great. It is fun to drive and it gets compliments when ever I take it out. It's obviously not a speed demon but with the 4 speed it does just fine and cruises great on the freeway. I have been driving it regularly with all the nice summer weather we have had but it has been parked the last few days with the rain we are now getting and will likely remain there until sold. The exterior looks very nice, albeit it does have a few blemishes and dings from use but very presentable for its 40+ years of age. Looks to be original paint with exception of the right front fender. It isn't really obvious to most but looks to have been resprayed at some point in its life.Wipers, washers, lights, locks, AC, blower motor/fan, radio and horn work. Tires appear good with lots of tread. Car was previously a Washington car before coming to Oregon (so no salt) and its overall condition and past service stickers indicate it was cared for and maintained. Mileage on the odometer is 60,504 and is believed to be correct as represented by the previous seller.Tags and plates are new - good to July 2017 and I have a clean title in my name ready for transfer. The interior is very nice - no rips or tears, dash is perfect as is headliner. Other than a couple minor surface bubbles on the very lower area of the rear fenders, the car otherwise appears solid and rust free. Car comes with owners manual, service manual, spare, jack, lug wrench, box of assorted spare parts - new and old, spare fuses and bulbs, 1 key that fits everything, clean and clear Oregon title and original Washington plates that came with the car.Recent work includes;new oil and filter, valve adjustment, new valve cover gasket/seals, injectors and fuel system flushed, new fuel filters, new fuel return hoses, new hood ornament, new horn, new bulbs throughout, new fluids, new differential and power steering fluid, new power steering filter and belt, newer battery, new rear sub-frame mounts, new rear differential mount, new front and rear shocks, new front stabilizer bushings, new trunk seal, parking brake release knob. Things that still need attention; Dash bulbs replaced - new bulbs come with the car. Pretty sure just burnt out, didn't get to them.Rear stabilizer bar links need installed - new ones come with the car. Noticed when doing shocks, new ones arrived late.Right rear turn signal does not work and needs sorted. All the rest of the signals and bulbs work.Clock does not work and needs sorted. Was going to do along with the bulbs - didn't get to it.I have tried to be as accurate and transparent as I can be with the description of this car. I simply cannot spend any more time on this car due to family demands and need to get it sold, That said, I will not give it away or entertain trades or low-ball offers but am open to all reasonable offers as the goal is to sell it.Asking $4,500 or best offer Buyer is responsible for shipping costs and any taxes, title or transfer fees. Vehicle is for sale locally and reserve the right to end listing early if sold. Please contact me with questions.Thank you!

Up for sale is one gorgeous 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280S. Referred to as the Mercedes-Benz W108, these models filled the full-size luxury car class from 1965 through 1973. The cars were successful in West Germany and in export markets including North America and Southeast Asia. The 2496 cm³ Straight-six engine has been rebuilt.
