Purchased in 4/10 with 73,753 miles certified on the title, from A-Cars, Inc. in Virginia Beach, Virginia, which is an automotive garage/restorer, as third owner. Car has been in Virginia Beach area its entire life, never experiencing road salt or poor winter road conditions. Car is rust-free. Since I have owned it, this Porsche was always garaged, and only driven in nice weather on back, lonely roads, and never in excessive heat or cold; much time, elbow grease and sweat was put into exterior, with many Meguiar's products. Timing belt/water pump was changed at 72,736 miles in June of 2008, by a previous owner. Timing belt was also changed as precaution in March 2010, along with valve job by A-Cars, Inc., prior to my ownership. Although odometer stopped working in 6/11 with 76,571 miles, my driving has been consistent, with appx. 1500 miles a year, (the miles given at 83,000 are therefore approximate) always only in summer months. New tires were installed 5/12, and only have about 4-5k on them, if that. They are as new. Car has always been faithful, and drives/accelerates/shifts/handles/stops perfectly. Always has passed VA State Inspection and regularly maintained. Many other parts have been purchased/installed by me, from sunroof deflector hinges to battery, CD stereo, speakers, fitted seat covers, spark plug wires, headlights, Cocoa mats, etc. I have kept track/have records of these purchases. Car is not perfect, as it is near 30 years old- has a few dings, cracked dash top, headliner is torn and worn out from age and needs replaced - a couple of small dents on driver side rear quarter panel from a previous owner, and some paint flaws, but it shows beautifully. I even showed it on the green at Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Concours, in 7/13. Otherwise, only issues I have would be: slight oil drip on cardboard in my garage, A/C needs charged, clock, rear defroster wires need replaced - and passenger side window will not go up/down from driver's side button, needs new insulation mat under hood, and wheels need paint re-finish. Great candidate for full restoration, as nice 924S models are getting hard to find, or to live out a second life as a track day car! This rare 1987 Porsche 924S, with two speed automatic and 32,700 original miles is a two owner “time capsule” Porsche luxury sports car that was sold as part of an estate in Carmel, Indiana in early 2015. An Excellent “original” example. Paint, Body and Interior are stunning and won praise from the three Porsche Concours judges in the August 2015 Artmobilia in Carmel, Indiana. Still has that fresh feel, from the close of a door, to the touch of the wheel, the softness of the leather wheel and the snug auto shifter that can only be found in a car with so few miles. Porsche only manufactured 6900 of the 924S model in 1987, and over two years, only 9100 examples of the S were ever shipped to the U.S., were making this model particularly rare, even then. In addition, the A/C, recently converted to R134a freon, blows ice-cold, and this makes it perhaps the only 1987 Porsche in the Midwest thusly equipped! Alpine White exterior with an immaculate black Porsche cloth interior, with original Porsche tools and air pump; plastic bag for the tire and gloves (to be used when changing the tire); both Owner’s Manuals, spare tire and jack, touch-up stick, and 2.5 litre (2 valves per cylinder) straight four making 160 bhp. The removable oversize aluminum sunroof fits snugly in the Black Naugahyde bag and the boot luggage cover for the rear compartment works exactly as it should. This example drives and handles as if new and has zero leaks anywhere (water and oil!). J. Pasha, writing in Excellence magazine, at the time, described the 924 as "the best handling Porsche in stock form” (Wikipedia quote). This early production 1987 924S(Sept/1986), was ordered with 158:Cassette-radio Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46;455: wheel locks; 474: sport shocks; 423: holder for cassettes and coins; 567:top-tinted windscreen; 573: A/C. It was sold in Marion, IN on December 4th, 1986 to a local gentleman by Coral Cars, Inc. Porsche Dealer #1245, Marion, Indiana, and was owned by the family until April 2015. His complete information is listed in the Owner's Manual. Recent mechanical updates include a new battery, all new Bilstein HD shocks/struts and new period-correct tires. In addition, old brake fluid flushed/replaced with new fluid, washer motor, new Porsche hood blanket and struts have been just replaced. Sold brand new in January of 1987 by Prestige Imports of Lakewood, CO, the car spent more than 25 years in the care of its original owner, the well-known Denver-based collector Dr. William Jackson. 1987 Porsche 924 S Coupe I'm selling my 1987 Porsche 924s Coupe. It's a great little car and tons of fun to drive. I'd love to keep it, but I need the money to cover some medical bills. It has a brand new air filter and battery. Plus it even comes with the original owner's manual which includes the service stamps from the dealership back in 1987. It does have a crack in the windshield, but it's never caused me any trouble. The only other issue it has is that the aftermarket stereo draws power even when the car isn't running. I've just been disconnecting the battery terminal because I'm too lazy to dig into the issue. You could just have the radio installed properly or have it removed completely. I'm sure it's an easy fix. Aside from that, this is an awesome car to have. It's in great condition considering it's nearly 30 years old! How many people can honestly say they've owned a Porsche? Clean title! Solid running car, engine pulls strong and car brakes but will need new ones soon. Factory mags to my knowledge, heater and fans work well, defrosters work, etc etc. Older JVC head unit cd player works, unfortunately I don't have the original. Drivers side power mirror works, passengers side does not - Probably shorted. Lights still work and flip up correctly too! Car was purchased in February of this year, oil was changed with Mobil 1,NGK Spark plugs, K/N Air filter, Tranny fluid changed, brand new KYB Gr2's all around on under less than 600 miles. Car's made multiple trips to Colorado Springs, Denver and Back, In total I've put maybe 1000 miles on it. Sunroof works but likes to stick. Wouldn't hesitate to drive it for long distances. Thermostat gets warm, but doesn't overheat even in traffic. Will include a new waterpump with sale. 77k on the ODO, Odo broke before purchase so mileage is closer to 78-79k. Frame was tweaked by previous owner. Car drives, but pulls to the right. Put it on a frame puller and you should be set. Brakes work, need replaced. Needs tires, set is mismatched. AC Inop. Speakers failing. Paint chips and spots, fading - normal 80's Porsche paint issues. Solid race car or project for restoration or weekend DD. Seat inners have separated from the sides, common 80's Porsche issue. This is a 924 S, So better than your average 924. Right fender replaced and resprayed by P/O. In the photos of the passengers side you can see the crumple where the frame was pushed in. Selling due to financial difficulties. This is my second Porsche, and I love these cars as any enthusiast should. I wouldn't sell it if I didn't have to. Please feel free to ask any questions.
