Full service less than a year ago (and <3k miles), IMS replaced with LN engineering IMS Pro bearing, brakes, clutch etc etc. total bill was $5600. Also had double din radio installed with full touch screen, navigation and Bluetooth. Only additional repair since ownership was the driver side window regulator. Car is in excellent condition with only one small ding in the hood from a rock....about the size of a quarter...see picture which is blown up to show this...no surprises. Leather and all interior is 9.5/10. Has partial carbon trim accents with stainless pedals. Tires have 6k on rear and 10k on fronts. This is being sold way below what I should be asking....car is easily worth 24 without the IMS work....if you buy a 996, there is no reason to not do the IMS bearing!...this one is done, all you have to do is drive it! Car is a bit dirty, raining here for a week....will clean up and update picks when sun comes out. Nothing to hide on this one. As close to perfect as you are going to find. You are looking at a 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 2. 6 Speed manual transmission. Sunroof. Factory 18" wheels and more. The car has not been driven much over the past 6 months. I bought it from a Porsche mechanic that was going to give it the TLC it needs and never got around to it. It starts up with no smoke or noises. Cluth and transmission shift as they should. It does have a wheel bearing type of noise when driving but drives great. I have not driven it too far. I think the car needs to be gone over before being driven too far. Drivers seat torn. Does have a few stains in the interior. Power moonroof and A/C all work as they should. Good tires all around. I do have quite a few service records with it. Paint is excellent. Up for sale is my beloved 1987 Porsche 911 Cabriolet with the sought after 3.2 liter engine and the G-50 gearbox. There has been no expense spared on this car since new...I have over $42k of documented maintenance receipts. The car has never been tracked - always adult driven and well cared for - no accidents, no stories, etc. The car itself has approximately 160k miles on it, however the engine was completely rebuilt 26k miles ago. The rebuild included: new pistons, rings, valves, head studs, clutch, etc. (see the attached receipt, which details the work performed during the rebuild). The odometer was also replaced at this time (see the attached receipt, which show 000004 miles at the time the engine was rebuilt). The engine starts right up. There is no smoke from the engine and absolutely NO leaks from anywhere - the engine runs very strong and performs as one would expect. The gear box shifts smoothly through all gears and the clutch was replaced 26k miles ago. Prior to deciding to put the car up for sale, I had the car looked over by Terry Sossamon, owner of the 911 Shop in Charlotte, NC. Terry is one of the region's foremost experts on 911s with more than 30 years of servicing and building top 911s. A valve adjustment was performed, cap and rotor replaced, and a performance chip was added, which increased throttle response and has improved fuel economy - it was a great addition to the car. Terry saw absolutely no leaks or any mechanical issues present. The sound system has been upgraded with an Alpine CD player, Rockford Fosgate speakers and a 400 watt Kenwood amp. The stereo system is a tremendous improvement over the stock configuration. The interior is in good condition - there are no cracks in the dash - the seats are nice. The carpet is original and does show some signs of wear - typical for a 27 year old vehicle. The convertible top is in good condition - the top is mechanical - not electric, which is a bonus from a maintenance perspective. The tires have approximately 60% of their tread left and are in great shape. The exterior paint is very nice, however there are some small chips here and there, which is to be expected from a car of this age - however it is very glossy and presents very well. These air-cooled 911s (especially the 87-89 cars with the G-50 gearbox) are rapidly going up in value, which makes them a solid investment. Therefore, if you are looking for one of these cars with a well documented maintenance history and one that you can enjoy for many miles / years to come, this may be the car you have been looking for. I purchased this 911s from Mercedes Benz of Richmond Va in November of 2013. The car was a local one-owner, PCA club member car that belonged to a gentleman in his late 60s who after 6 years of ownership decided to trade it in on a new SL as the 911 had become too low for him to get into and out of comfortably, he was tired of driving a manual, and was ready for something a little softer riding for he and his wife. As the second owner, I purchased the car with about 27k miles on it and have driven it about 5k miles since November of 2013, the car is only driven on nice days and is my second car. Car has been garage kept every day of its life by prior owner and me The original owner custom ordered this car in rare midnight blue metallic and took European delivery. I have every maintenance record in this car’s history from both the prior owner’s and my ownership history (surprisingly most examples out there won’t have this back to day 1). Additionally, I have the original purchase sticker ($92,455) and euro delivery paperwork. In addition to normal maintenance, in November of 2014, I spent a little over $2,500 on proactive replacement of the water pump, thermostat, serpentine belt and spark plugs along with a brake fluid and coolant flush and additionally had the lower oil pan dropped and inspected for any metallic debris (it was clean). I am a firm believer in staying ahead of maintenance on a car like this and all of this was done purely as a proactive measure due to age rather than waiting for stated mileage thresholds or anything demonstrating failure. My mechanic described my car to me as having 5 years of runway before any significant maintenance items will be necessary again – just oil changes in the interim. The brake pads have more than 50% left on them in my estimation, front tires have significant tread left, rear tires have wear at the edges and will probably need replacement in the next 5K miles or so. The original owner’s custom european order of the car included the 19 inch Turbo Spec Wheels, Full Leather dash / door panel / other interior covering package, Porsche headrest crests, and Bose Premium Sound. Since new, the car has had a 3M clear bra (~$1K+) installed on the hood/fenders/front air dam/bumpers/mirrors and accordingly doesn’t have the stone chips typically seen on unprotected 911s. The car runs and drives exactly as you would expect a pristinely maintained example to – smooth, effortless acceleration; crisp shifts; responsive suspension and excellent brakes. Bottom line is this is an extremely well cared for, 2-enthusiast owner example that will not disappoint. Surprisingly, its getting more and more difficult to find a demonstrated record of appropriate maintenance on pre-owned modern era 911s (took me 4 months of search to find this one that met my standards and had all of the records). For better or worse, as Porsche production volumes have increased, there are more modern-era 911 owners out there today just with the money to buy them but aren’t the enthusiast owner who understands “how to own” one properly and many of these owners defer maintenance until things break, leaving the next owner to potentially hold the bag I reserve the right to end the auction early as I am selling the car locally as well. 1975 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe. Its no secret that the air cooled Porsche market has been on the upswing over the last few years, among the most desirable have been anything wearing the "Carrera" moniker from the RS through the 3.0 Carrera. This is an interesting car with a lot of very neat details that you only see on cars that have not been neglected or molested. With 68xxx original miles, the patina on this car really sets it apart. From what I can tell, the rear two thirds of this car look to be mostly original paint. At the very least the hood and front bumper were painted many years ago with lacquer paint and show some crazing. There are several parking dings in both doors, a paintless dent guys should be able to resolve these, and I think preserving as much original paint as possible is a wise choice. No accidents ever and no rust. The interior is excellent and exactly what you want to see from an unrestored car. The dash is perfect and seats look excellent with no rips or excessive wear. A period MOMO "Jacky Ickx" steering wheel has been fitted in place of the factory unit. Mechanically the car runs very well. The original case was replaced, likely under warranty, with a 100% unstamped 2.7 mag case. Regretfully I am selling my 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet (Black/Black, Manual Transmission). Please note that the mileage indicated above is engine/mechanical mileage. 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe. This is a lovely example that's a long time southern car and has been well cared for. We see lots and lots of air cooled 911s come through and few are as nice as this.
