1960 PORSCHE 356 B T5 ROADSTER 1960 Porsche 356 B T5 Roadster, chassis number (VIN) Drauz 875XX, Guard Red with black interior, reclining seats, new black leatherette upholstery, new black convertible canvas top, straight rust free body, excellent panel fit, excellent original California Car, excellent driver. Driven less than 500 miles since thorough restoration in the 1980's. I purchased this car in 1974, owned by my family since 1974, always a California car, garaged and driven little the last 30 years. RESTORATION: In mid-1980's underwent a rigorous 2 year restoration by Porsche 356 specialist Jim Rinker of Rinkertoys. Rotisserie mounted, bare metal restoration, battery box replaced, new clutch, new brakes, upholstery, cloth top, 12 volt system new battery, color "Guard Red", excellent chrome, a fresh engine (not the original) built to Super 90 specifications installed and much more. 2010 refreshed restoration, installed new battery and new Vredestein (Austrian) correct size tires. Steering wheel is good, chrome and paint excellent. SINCE 1980'S restoration driven less than 500 miles, always garaged, top never lowered since 1980's restore. Refreshed restore in 2010. INCLUDED red and black coco mats, original jack, tonneau cover, good Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories car cover chrome rings and hub caps. EXCEPTIONS: Not original color (white) but now Guard Red, not original engine (replaced with dual carb engine built to Super 90 specs), Oil temp, gas gauge and odo not functioning, one small shallow dent (paint not broken), scratch on driver side door window. According to “Auto e Club” (http://autoeclub.com/porsche-356-manufactured-stats.htm) Porsche production for 1960 was only 561 Roadsters. Have Certificate of Authenticity. It has wind up windows, full body seats, higher windshield and a new black Hartz cloth convertible top and matching interior. It is finished in white paint. I just installed new upgraded head lights as you can see in the pictures. Very similar in styling, it featured a taller windshield, roll up windows and made for a comfortable and more practical everyday driver. For 1960, Porsche introduced the new "T-5" body style and the D was replaced by the Roadster, built by Drauz - The perfect compromise between the iconic sporty lines embodied by the Speedster and the more civilized refinement of the Cabriolet. Bali Blue over Red leather upholstery and carpeting, this particular 356 could very well be considered the ultimate driver's Roadster, well-sorted to casually show or frequently enjoy as-is. The Porsche received a complete professional restoration in years past and has benefited from regular maintenance and sympathetic care throughout the following years. The car displays great cosmetics and mechanical condition, typical of a properly-kept example. Factory optioned equipment include: antenna, cigar lighter, reclining seats, ventilated chrome wheels, electrical clock and 2 loudspeakers among others. The body and brightwork appear uniform and clean.
