Not only is it rare for being one of only 59 Hemi Road Runners built in 1971 but when you take into account all of this cars documentation, its original factory installed numbers matching drivetrain and its always rust-free body it becomes a truly special Hemi car! There were over 11,070 Hemi powered cars built in an eight year span from 1964 to 1971 and only 397 or 3.5% of them were '71 models! There can't possibly be very many 1971 Hemi cars left that still have their original factory installed numbers matching drivetrain, their original window sticker, original purchase contract, original Broadcast Sheet, original warranty paper, original skid distance sheet and a complete ownership history and an always rust-free body to boot! This Fantastic Hemi Road Runner was featured in the May '94 issue of Mopar Collectors Guide as the Finest Unrestored '71 Hemi Road Runner to Exist! It was later purchased by a top collector and with only 49,000 original miles on the clock it was given a high level restoration using all original NOS parts! This owner sold it to Tim Wellborn in 2004 and I got it in a trade with Tim 5 years ago. 1969 Plymouth RoadRunner driver quality Street/Strip set-up. This car cruises good & is a really nice driver. I would trust it to go anywhere & we took it on Power Tour for 1,200 miles in 2013 with 2.90 gears. Now it has: 405ci low deck BB with 2,900 miles, rebuilt B&M crate 727 with reverse manual valve body with 1,400 miles, stock B-body width unmodified Ford 9" w/4.56 & Ford Racing trac-lok w/900 miles, '76 B-body style front disc brakes/rear 10" drum brakes, complete repaint (jams / underhood / trunk / inner door tops ) to a Black Cherry color that looks lighter in direct sunlight which is about 20 years old now. The paint shines really good, has chips & a few imperfections here & there but overall for a 20+ year old paint job it looks & shows really good. Also has a steering column from a '69 console shift & correct '69 b-body bucket seats which are covered in non stock fabric & match the back seat. Lift-off stock style SixPack fiberglass race quality hood, sub-frame connectors, 8 point roll bar w/no penetrations thru sheetmetal(can be removed w/no patching material in), driveshaft loop. '70 Air Grabber 1-4v air cleaner base, '70 HEMI oval air cleaner lid. The car has drag shocks that come with it and they allow it to transfer weight and the whole car lifts good as seen in pic.
